cichlidfort, I think the man has a point but I also think that you have a point. You're right that it's uplifting if we find out that a cure is finally discovered or even very close to being discovered, so scientific progress is cool to learn. But it isn't going to help us in the short-term unless we figure out a way to harness the information into an actual treatment in the short term.

Best case scenario he leaves with a bunch of information none of us can do a damn thing with. You guys end up out of pocket a couple hundred dollars and nothing but another round of the waiting game. We don't need to anything else but the money, he is a grown man. Just pay $13 for a domain name, add a paypal button using a paypal plugin, let him send us his paypal email and put the link up with a goal in mind. I can set this up in like 10 minutes. Just tell us how much does he need.

Probably around $1,500 USD for a round trip flight + another $1,000 USD to cover all other expenses (hotel, food, entrance to the presentations, buying him a voice recorder for the presentations, etc).

We're about 1 month away from the presentation. I think there will be good news but I think that the good news will be limited. I think they will have some success but not enough to give total reversal of hair loss.

Mate, as someone who has been following this for some years I would not get too excited. This is still an approach a decade away at least. I know it is hard but thats what it is...
