I don't get where you're even getting this whole 'Society treats bald guys like shit' attitude from? Do you live in the states? I never notice this going on AT ALL! I'm being serious. And I've never looked at a bald guy even before I started losing my hair and been like 'this guy deserves less respect'.

Respect has nothing to do with the follicles on your head, maybe it does in America? But not in the UK. Life is short man, you need to change your attitude if you want to be happy.

A successful actor headed toward a Norwood 6 can afford a transplant or an extremely realistic hair piece if they're so inclined. I have a friend who is decent looking with a full head of hair. He is in his fifties and has had one girlfriend his entire life because his voice drones pity and despair. Another friend is a Norwood 6. He is about 5'7" and shaves his head. He has a positive attitude and is a good talker. Women love him. I remember one time his ex was giving him grief. He went out the next morning to meet women and by the end of the day, he showed me around six women texting him, wanting to get together for either dinner or a movie. One time he and I went to a Starbucks and the good looking lady behind the counter gave him a gift. She was in love.

Sure many young women prefer hair on their guys. As you mature things change for the better with the right attitude.

Male hair loss is ridicued by everyone who's not affected. For many people that's just a topic to make pointless jokes about on family celebrations, and then your 60-year old uncle giggles, spots on his bald head like "Look at me, what of it?!". And for some reason, the media think that everybody can laugh about his hair loss in this way.

So why are men made to feel like absolute TRASH if they seek a solution for their hair loss when women exhibit the MOST vanity?

There may be restrictions in professional sports against the use of a DHT inhibitor like Finasteride, Avodart, etc. Seeing how they can't use it to hold onto the hair they already have coupled with an HT, they could be doomed. Most of the athletes won't know any better about fighting hair loss, theyre regular people like me and you... some of them are actually incredibly stupid (see Antoine Walker, dude went broke after earning 110 million dollars).
You answered your own question. They mask it. a dude wears a hat and gets attention then takes it off, it's game over. It's about finding the dominate mate. Maybe I should have said celeberties? A man to have cosmetic surgery is seen as weird. At the end of the day it's your character and how you control the situation. When a women comments about my hair loss (or my other flaws) I just give a smile/smirt to her. I know I have way more to offer her than she deserves.

Balding men do look weak. Guys that shave/buzz their head look more masculine/dominant.

Anyway I don't blame a women for not wanting a bald guy, heck it's all I can do to look in the mirror

    Sorry for the off topic.

Hair loss progressed because more money is flowing around. I wish more atheletes would come out for HTs like Welker

Then why are so many women repulsed by balding men?
Why is the stereotype of a complete failure of a man also include baldness? Why does the media treat baldness as an acceptable condition to humiliate someone over (see example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-T7rnF7_0XM ).
Why are ONLY men ridiculed and humiliated over hair loss, but not women?

Do you know of ANY condition that receives this much DISRESPECT?

Respect has EVERYTHING to do with this condition... and we DO NOT GET IT. You gotta be kidding yourself if its respecting yourself based on an aesthetic thats an EXTERNAL factor that society judges you on.

Hair loss research evidently has not been treated as a priority over the years like heart disease, cancer, AIDS, etc.. Interesting that current oral and topical treatments such as Avodart, Propecia, and Rogaine were originally developed to treat other disorders.

Your hair will be gone but youll be able to get it back.

Another way to look at it is that if you went completely bald tommorow you would only have to deal with it for 6-8 years, but seeing as itll be slower then that youll only have to deal with it for 2-4 years.
