This is what I am thinking also. For cases like mine (5th decade of life) it is already "game over". But I think about the kids of my daughter. They will almost certainly suffer from the same plague (I got the genes from my grandfather also, from the side of my mother; my father is quite OK for his age). But by the time they reach their 20's, which would be about three decades from now, it is almost certain that all this will be past. Even if there is no cure for someone who is already bald, I am very confident that there will be ways to safely keep your hair.

Morbo is absolutely spot on, we cloned Dolly the sheep nearly two decades ago but there's probably no indication of us cloning humans in this century! Biology>Physics in complexity - the complexity of organisms is just mind boggling ask any evolutionary biologist and they'll tell you.

Guys, im going to be blunt, I'm usually all for and positive about the "technological progress" being made in cell therapy etc, but everything being discussed is still in theoretical stages. Dr Nigam stated there are individuals who are coming up with new ideas for hair loss cures... okay... now ask yourself how long an IDEA takes to go from 'idea stage' to a marketable product.

You're talking over a decade for every idea, so even if you're in your early 20's, you'll probably be hitting 40 by the time some of these ideas come out (granted they've made it through the deathly firey pit of legal/safety/corruption/greed/self-interest hurdles first), and by the time your 40, you'll think... meh, whats the point now?

So at my best estimate I'd probably say those people who have not been born yet, people who will be born in about 5 years time (ha! 5 years lol) are most likely to see a better treatment by the time they hit their late teens/early 20's.

Dr Nigam, do you think Dr Gerd could add Hellousers picture to his presentation?

Well,I am fortunate to benefit from both the groups...

Your approach to finding a solution to hair loss makes me positive! To use knowledge that some of these forums memders has and let them help you with reachers i think could lead to something very good!

Dr Nigam, has there been any signs at the congress that any business attending is likely to launch any new anti-hairloss products, however minor, in the next 5 years or less?
