In short, the entire method of follicular unit transplantation was developed and perfected by 1992 and contrary to much promotional literature, it did not happen in the offices of Dr. Rassman and Bernstein. Some 78 transplant surgeons who observed the procedure in practice in our offices between 1992-1998 will be happy to confirm this history. Dr. Rassman has been a very vocal ardent promoter of follicular unit transplantation and deserves credit for popularizing a procedure developed by others.
However, promotion is not science and per Dr. Rassman’s communication of 09-11-2002 neither is it accurate history.

    Hey clarence,
check this nice photo out …

Guess what - I got such nice strip-scars at a point in my life,
where Rassman didn’t even know how to perform a hair transplant!

    Oh, by the way ...
Why I'm still the owner of a very expensive and in the meanwhile still very high traded medical book, where the REAL inventor of "FUE" clearly described already today's FUE, published in 1996?
In addition, this guy HAS already presented "FUE" at the 1st ISHRS meeting in Dallas, 1993 - 10 years earlier in history than Rassman/Bernstein - who claim to be the "inventors of FUE"!

I simple words, I do not need any "advise" from a guy, whose whole "career" was always just based on "re-inventions" of other people's findings/work. Not really ...

Yup, didn't feel any pain at all myself but exactly like you, I had quite a bit of itching that at times was quite uncomfortable. It subsided somewhat after about 10-14 days but kept itching throughout the first 4 weeks ..

But even now, when I look at my donor, I still see red pimple-like spots, which supposedly is regrowth in progress ...

Great photo's, my compliments. Maybe it's an idea to shoot some more from more angles, so we can get something like a 360 view. Your photo's are so clear, it should be easy to count the total amount of holes. This would put the last bit of scepticism to rest, regarding the failed extractions regrowth vs real regrowth.

Have you seen the enmity of Rassman against Gho and HST? For a man of his prominence, that's alot said.

"I am sorry, but what is presented here does not move me to believe anything had occurred other than a nicely done FUE with healing."

"His science was pathetic, with slides that were blurred and blackened out so that there was really nothing to see. "

"I did report on Dr. Coen Gho in a previous post in a less-than-favorable light. My comments on him reflected what appears to be intellectual dishonesty. I have heard Dr. Gho speak publicly, and what he is doing is the classic FUE technique that I pioneered and published in the Dermatologic Surgery medical journal in 2002 (see here)." (Ok, this one is not so flattering)

"This very subject has been extensively studied by other physicians and the ability to grow full, healthy normal hairs is clearly not possible. I do not believe that what this doctor is reporting is real."

And finally, a somewhat zoomed photo of Day-3 …

    Test-Day-3

Now I have figured out how to make such photos ...
Once you know how to do it - you will love it ...

Maybe he's too busy trying to figure out away to steal the technique of HST and take credit for it... sounds familiar right ? Oh yeah, just like he did with FUE

    Pictures are looking great IM.

I've marked some reference points in red for those who want to document the procedure for themselves:

    References - Day 1

    References - Day 2

So far I've found three reasonable reference points. Reference point #1 is a small scar and located in a very nice area. I'm afraid it's going to heal up and be harder to notice in the future though. Reference point #2 and #3 are located close to each other and include a couple of birthmarks and a thick, three-hair follicular grouping. These should be permanent but the location isn't as ideal as the first reference point.

If anyone else notices a reference point, please share it. I'm going to be monitoring the area with MS Paint but I think that should be ok for a simple analysis.

Guess what - I had since the procedure a 2nd problem; namely, until now, and due to these few test-grafts into the scar, I couldn't sleep so far neither on my back, nor on my stomach - in addition!

So I decided to sleep just a few hours on my butt ...
hahaha as I couldn't guarantee I wouldn't roll over onto my front during the night, I tried to sleep on a chair... very uncomfortable. But all these things are worth it!!

Yea same for me. Hmmmm. They did pick areas where the hairs are strong though.

Due to the ~10 test-grafts into 1 of my old strip-scars, I couldn't "wash" carefully the donor area yesterday (Day-1) as suggested in the instructions. Carefully cleaning somewhat the implanted hairs with just warm water in the shower (and just with very low water-pressure and without touching the grafts with the fingers!) is suggested on Day-2 = today. So the Day-2 photos show still the completely uncleaned head.

Ok, NOW I'm going to take the 1st head shower ...
WOW, they'll look even cleaner once you've rinsed the back of your head, that's amazing!!

Did the technicians comment on how easy the extractions were and how little you were bleeding?

Really happy that it's going well for you mate, you and Gaz (gc83uk) raised so much awareness of HST and if it wasn't for your documenting his donor, I might not have got my HST.

    So all the best mate.

    I'm curious ...
You hairs are alot finer than mine, and generally pointing in the same direction
