          Tom,

U got 1, 600 grafts in the recipient?

So you only had 800 extraction points in the donor? I know its healed now supposedly with hair, but it took 800 extractions to get 1600 grafts in the recipient?

Or he made 1600 extractions and he put 1600 in recipient and 1600 back in the donor extra tion holes?

          I'm still foggy on this

That's great news Tom. I am interested to know if by doubling you mean that you actually are growing more hair than before the procedure.

What I mean is did they simply cut the follicle in half and took half the amount of hair from a follicle and transplanted it leaving the other half behind so now you have double the graft but the same amount of hair.

Or did both halfs of the follicle grow back and now you have double the hair. Is there a noticeable cosmetic difference when you look in the mirror or when you you run your hands through your hair?

My understanding is that each half grows back to a full follicular unit, so you have 1600 full folicular units extracted, cut in half, and then regenerate as 2800 full follicular units-- to be placed in recipient and donor extraction holes

Sounds very interesting for sure Tom. Still I have my doubts regarding your case in terms of proof. The fact that there were no photo's for some parts of your donor pre-op before your first surgery, the fact that 4 'strips' were used while they're not all that easy to locate, grafts being planted back into donor and the fact that the same donor region was used twice all extremely complicates the case for research purposes. Yet I'm very happy Mwamba seems to think regrowth is happening, sounds very promising. I'm sure he knows what he's doing and doesn't say things unless he's got something real.

This is what I was hoping for !! Really happy to hear Mwamba is doing this !

lol. I just wish something would happen now/today!

There still seems to be a lot of unanswered questions, I won't go making a huge list, but why didn't they triple Toms hair rather than double?

I thought do novo meant you could extract a graft, bisect it in vitro, plant both halves in the recipient and they both grow as full FUs e.g 2 x 2FU's from 1 x 2FU, thats the doubling part.... the tripling part happens with Nigam repairing the donor with his ECM / injected cells etc. That's right isn't it?

yes, maybe they needed to focus on the regen.

my quastion is,, can the we cut the graft in 5 parts or ten and then inject them all to grow hair? that would be super...can Dr Nigam tell us if that would be available in the future?

That really is crazy if Nigam took 1600 grafts and the density is same as pre-op - AND this is coming from Dr Mwamba one of the best hair loss surgeons in the world....

When the hell is Spencer going to have an interview with Nigam?

It sounded too good to be true 12 months ago, yet we're now receiving positive feedback from well-known forum members and even an IAHRS hair loss surgeon.
