About to start RU, need directions...

Again, I really appreciate the feedback. Now, you say you only use 1ml per day. I'm currently using about 3ml simply to cover the entire scalp - it seems to me that it would be difficult to get the entire scalp (hairline, center, vertex) with just 1ml. Do you only use it in a specific area?

1.) I thought RU needed to be stored in the fridge for a premix - will it be just as effective if I make a 5-day batch and keep it in a dark place in my closet?

As far as I know from others, RU should be stable for about 2 months if not stored in a fridge or freezer. Keep it to a minimum though, 5 days is pretty safe margin. The actual powder of RU i keep it stored in a small bottle, closed tight, which is then held in a ziplock bag which is kept in the freezer. I keep my CB stored in the same manner.

2.) Wondering if you've written a ratio of "how much" (mixer, RU, etc) for a 5-day supply? I guess I can ask you that when I get closer to actually doing it (thinking on ordering in a week or so).

My RU dosage and vehicle is as follows;
100mg
0.65ml of Everclear
0.35ml of PG

This is for a total of 1ml for a 10% concentration of RU, I use this daily and only once daily. Multiply everything by 5 if you want to make it last for 5 days.

3.) What about this stuff from mpb treatments - does that premixed stuff hold up? What's your opinion about it? Anyway, enough questions for now ... don't want to drive you crazy. Thanks again, my friend.

Get RU in raw form. Don't bother with premixed. It WILL go bad and you won't see results as effective as mixing RU yourself. Youre already spending a lot of money on something that obviously means a lot to you; your hair, identity, acceptance from society (because people are shallow pigs), your happiness, etc. Don't cut corners with the premixed crap, you'll regret it.

I work for a publisher as an online lead doing all the digital media along with copy writing, so my English skills have definitely picked up since college and especially since high school. I know what you mean about clarity.

About me: I've had a batch of RU in the fridge for about 4-5 months. I posted my desire to try RU on another hairloss site in October, got a personal message, got in touch with the guy (I live in CA, he lives in Texas), and we made a purchase with Kane (I paid most, and he did the mixing). At the time, I just wanted it ALL premixed and "ready to roll" - I didn't want any hassles. So, I paid Kane, the RU was delivered to the guy in Texas, and he then sent me SIX premixed 60ml bottles, which distributed the 10grams of RU. I put them all in the fridge. I've been using the RU for the past 4 months ... not sure about the results as of yet. I now realize that storing the premixed RU probably wasn't the best idea. So, that's my story - and now I have a few questions (hope I haven't overlooked any answers to these you've already written):

Yes, as I've mentioned before, premixed solutions of RU sitting in the fridge for that long is not a good idea. I think I've heard that RU can only last about 6 weeks in the solution before its efficacy is useless.

1.) Are there any group buys going on right now? If so, do you go for the group buys, or do you just purchase directly from Kane / Ontario? Money isn't a huge issue for me, but I figure if I can save a lot of cash from a group buy, so be it.

Yes, there are group buys happening all the time. I've taken part in one of them thus far. I've also purchased from Ontario Chemicals but will NOT be doing so anymore; too expensive, questionable purity. Kane's source is probably best, 10g for $225 of RU. Should last you at least 3 months at 100mg per daily application. Most people don't use that much. 50mg should be the minimum application (in my opinion anyway). Kane's prices aren't much higher than the group buys though.

2.) If I bought 10 grams of RU from Kane, kept it stored in the freezer, and made 21-day solutions at a time (figuring 3ml per day on my scalp in a 60ml bottle) - do you think the 21-day solutions would be effective if stored in the fridge? I guess my plan is to make a new batch every three weeks as opposed to nightly.

Try not to make 21 day solutions. I make 5 day batches at a time stored in my room and away from light. I used to make batches daily but that got tedious after a while and seeing how others were making 3 days, 5 days, etc with results, I figured I'd do the same and so far, since February things have improved. I'm hoping all the new hairs turn terminal.

3.) Also, do you think RU would be more effective with a micro derma-roller? I use it before I put on minox in the morning. I also have been using it at night before I apply my RU.

Most likely yes, it should be more effective. But youre also opening yourself up to systemic effects. I'd be cautious. I don't have a derma-roller but I get around this by applying RU and CB after a shower and exfoliating my scalp with a cream as well. Applying after showers is good because the applications of RU and CB don't have to go through sebum (oily substance produced from your skin typically 30 minutes after showering).

I'm sure I'll think of more ... but again, I really appreciate your feedback regarding RU questions on this site - it's been a huge help.

60ml or 250ml?

60ml will last you 60 days at 1ml per application/once per day. I'd get the 250ml so you have a lot of time to buy extra, plus you wont have to pay for shipping for every 60ml.

Don't quote me on this, but perhaps a Polish rectified spirit would be good? A grain alcohol at 95% should be the same. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
