I have been using RU for 2 months now straight and I can tell it has slowed down my shedding without a doubt. Unfortunately I still shed but perhaps this will improve even moreso with time. Will keep people updated. -
You could do that or you could order from Kane. It is $225 for 10 grams right now and the KB is half the price that of mpbtreatments. Also, I received my package within 6 days of placing the order from him so very fast shipping. Either source would work but why not save money?
I understand any grey market source is risky but I just feel mpb is less so at this stage. If that costs a bit more til I can confirm if it works for me, so be it.Leave a comment:

I'm using 5% RU, 1ml per day. I still take fin.
RU definitely seems to break down in solution quickly but the KB solution is supposed to last "up to 6 months" according to mpbtreatments. However I think my experience suggests that in hot climates at least it only lasts about 6 to 8 weeks from the date of mixing, and it takes 2-3 weeks to arrive. This is obviously a pretty serious issue.
Powder will be my next step. I see mpbtreatments have reduced the cost of their powder more in line with the Chinese labs, but it's still pricier than the premix. :-(Leave a comment:

If you don't start seeing results you should buy the powder form RU and mix yourself. I am seeing many RU veterans that are truly believe RU degrades quickly in solution - like a few days. I believe this too. Also, what %RU are you using? Did you stay on fin or did you get off it when you started the RU?

Time for an update. Today marks 2 months on RU. Been on fin for 4 years.
My new RU arrived a few days ago after my concerns about the first bottle breaking down in the KB, as evidenced by my increasingly oily scalp. It took about 4 days of applications from the new bottle but my scalp has now settled down again. So I'm pretty convinced that I was right about the RU breaking down.
I am currently experiencing a big shed which is daunting. But it's been two months which is about the time it takes for hair to cycle through telogen, back to anagen and to shed the old hair. So I figure maybe this is the shed caused by two months of RU.
The shedding seems to be mostly the severely miniaturised hairs, which is unusual for me, normally I shed a mix of hairs at different levels of miniaturisation.
Whether the hair will grow back thicker remains to be seen. I guess the next two months will tell. I buzz my head so I will know pretty quickly if I get any thickening. Next update in a month I guess.Leave a comment:

From my experience whenever I shed miniaturized hairs it's a good thing. My fin sheds were mostly miniaturized and I got pretty good regrowth of the crown. Hang in there.Leave a comment:

I was in the Queenstown area. Some great mountains down there! Didn't realise much went on in the North Island though! I'm from Qld.
I'm hooked on mountaineering now. Plan on doing a lot more of it. And best of all, it's cold so you're always wearing a beanie, which means no stressing over how the photos are going to show your baldness. ;-)
That's my kind of activity!!!Leave a comment:

I propose that we test RU in KB solution and scientifically rather than guessing and hearsay find out how long it will keepLeave a comment:

Sorry for the delay... I decided baldness could go f--- itself and I was gonna live my life, so I have been mountaineering in New Zealand. There is a long story there in itself, but suffice to say I had a blast, met a cute 23 year old girl who (apparently) doesn't seem to think hair loss is such a big deal, and I suddenly realised how much the continued negativity and BS in this place has been affecting me without my realising it. So I haven't been back on BTT since.
But I wanted to give an update about the RU, so here it is!
Now six weeks in. No major regrowth evident yet but it still seems to be working at reducing my oily scalp. Unfortunately this effect is slowly diminishing over time - my scalp is now maybe only 60% less oily than it was, instead of 80-90% less oily when I started RU. I figure it's either my scalp upregulating androgens in the sebaceous glands, or the RU is breaking down despite being in KB solution.
So I've ordered another bottle from mpbtreatments. If when it arrives, it stops my oily scalp again I'll know that the KB has been slowly breaking down over time. This wouldn't surprise me as I was keeping it at room temperature over an Australian summer, which means temperatures up to 40C or 100F.
At any rate, there have been no sides whatsoever, it seems to be pretty good stuff (at least in the early days before it broke down) and my hair is definitely a lot better than it was three months ago when I stopped fin for a month. I had a massive shed but it's recovered to where it was before.
I personally believe there has been some small amount of thickening too, but nothing really cosmetically significant. I plan on keeping using it for at least six months to see what happens. Maybe start putting it in the fridge though.Leave a comment:
