    Wow interesting!

I think there are TWO major phenomenon that we still don't understand about MPB:

    1) Why isn't it reversible? (fibrosis is probably the most plausible theory)

    2) Catch hairloss upon discontinuing Propecia! (what on earth is going on there)

It could indeed. DMSO has also been known to break up scar tissue.

They've been pretty successful in reversing cardiac tissue fibrosis lately! I think they were using Adenosine!

May be that should be something for these scientists to think about...we should all discuss these things here. Keep an active open topic about how to reverse these balding areas!

Reversing fibrosis might simply allow more hairs to grow out!

This study reported, for the first time, the occurrence of a developing fibrosis of the perifollicular sheath of pattern alopecia. This perifollicular fibrosis was evidenced by the degranulation of follicular adventitial mast cells, as well as enhanced collagen production by neighbouring fibroblasts. In addition, transmission electron microscopy examinations of the lower follicular infundibulum in regions of evolving alopecia indicated that the follicular dermal sheath was characterized by a 2–2.5 times enlargement composed of densely packed collagen bundles.
The fibrosis would have to be broken up somehow.

So would that mean there's a ceiling where no treatment can exceed beyond until we manage to create new follicles?

    Probably due to fibrosis.

Hey guys, here's what I've been thinking and also some questions I came up with that you may be able to clarify:

    1. In 2010, Dr Costraelis found that the number of stem cells in balding areas are the same as non-balding areas! They are simply INACTIVE and lack the necessary responses to grow new hairs!

    2. In 2011, Dr Gail Naughton announced that she was fascinated by this finding and believes this would be the most likely explanation regarding the mechanism of action of Histogen's Hair stimulating complex! So, necessary growth factors to switch on these stem cells are what's found in the HSC complex.

    3. We know that once you lose 50% of your hair density, your hair appears thinning and see-through. If you lose 100% of your hair in a particular region, it is a slick bald area.

    4. So far, Histogen has managed to increase the hair density in treated areas by 20%, 3 months after the second injection!

    So, here's my question:

    - Why was it NOT able to switch on all of your stem cells in the injected areas? Why only 20% of them responded?

Do we need even more injections to switch on the remainders?

So? I didn't say they are forced to go into the public. You are so stupid.

You're so stupid. You talk like they scam people. As always you have nothing better to do than troll and ruin the conversation. Get a life.

This is a good point. I don't think we can conclude the results are very successful, but this indicates, to an extent, that the most recent updates are NOT a failure, and they still anticipate to bring it to market. Well have to wait until the confrence though to get more details. Anyone know when?

Don`t large slick areas begin with thinning or am I mistaken?

I really hope there is an available treatment for everyone soon.

    Yeah, me too.

The hard part is regrowth. Take a random slick bald scalp, ingrain HSC or whatever and then step back to watch it grow hair. Everywhere. Will that be possible? That's the real question. But I keep no hope that it will happen soon.
