Hey guys,

Dr Ken Washenik runs a blog called "Hair Foundation Blog" and every now and then he gives an update on Aderans such as presenting @ Hair Research Congress, etc. I was thinking maybe we should email them and ask about what is going on! I've sent an email but I thought they may only reply if they face a great mass of emails requesting more information...what's your thoughts and here's their email:

So is Cetirizine (Zyrtec) in any way proven or as reliable as RU? Are there any result photos after 6+ months?

Zyrtec and chromo are experimentals in the true sense of the word based on Dr Cotsarelis PDG2 theory! Unfortunately both RU and Chromo/zyrtec have only anecdotal reports of efficacy although there was a small trial done for RU...

The German forum had some success with Zyrtec but who knows! Hellouser are you suffering from sides with fin as well?

Hey Conpecia,

Cromogylcates are probably the safest drug ever discovered! It literally has no reported side effects and a very large therapeutic index! It is a mast cell stabiliser and will definitely lower PGD2 levels in the scalp, even though mast cells are not the only source of PGD2.

Indomethacin on the other hand is a bit risky. Using it on a daily basis for long periods will definitely take its toll on your kidneys and stomach! I noticed Alecbaldone hasn't experienced any sides yet but kidney problems slowly creep up on you and unless you do regular renal function tests like creatinine clearance, etc it's asymptomatic till its too late!

I personally would use Cromo mixed with Cetrizine (Zyrtec) to combat PGD2 as both have a great safety profile!

Indo is an NSAID and if you read up on long-term effects of NSAIDs, I'm sure anyone would think twice about using it daily for over 6 months!

If you're still going to start, see your doctor, ask for some baseline kidney function tests and then measure it every 3 months to make sure it's all OK.

Iron Dragon sells the Indomethacin /Cromogycate mix, but does not sell cromo as a standalone.

Desmond what do you think about the rumors going around regarding indo/chromo? Lots of people are reporting that their hair has stopped falling out over long periods of time (6 months in some cases) while applying it. I'm starting an indo/chromo/minox thread and will be updating it at least weekly. PGD2 blockers seem to have an effect. Let's not give up hope. Just go down the next corridor until it ends, and so forth...

wow ... and aderans had the biggest financial support. hopefully they sold some vital information to another company who is on the verge of a breakthrough and needed their piece of the puzzle.

What could also be a possibility is that Aderans is maybe shutting down their US headquarters and focusing the vast majority of their efforts on getting Ji Gami approved overseas above all else. Maybe the FDA was breathing down their necks too hard and they decided to re-focus their efforts somewhere overseas. But again, I really hate to speculate because none of us really do know. They assured me that they aren't shutting down their program, so I'm hopefully taking them at their word.

can you describe your phone call in more detail? How long did it last, his tone, who did it sound like he was in the company, how old did he sound, what do you think he meant by "scope" etc.
