they did do phase 2 at several facilities across the country...
However yeah due to the signs we've seen from them in the last 18 months i.e. no news and lame results announcements at Mesa convention I'd say they are likely shutting down because their results are simply unsatisfactory.
These people put more than ten years of their lives into this, they deserve a lot of respect.
We have a very tough 24 month period of new news ahead of us IMO, as pretty much all companies are at a defined stage with the exception of Histogen. It's gonna be tough to go on for a while without any sort of news.
Aderans hopefully soon

Not saying it is the case with Aderans but it may be. However, IMO, they're more likely to be shutting down the research. No phase III indications + ho-hum results.... doesn't bode well. Go team Follica!Leave a comment:

that is a good question
It's hard to justify them auctioning everything they have with some kind of upgrade. I guess they could be moving stuff around, but honiestly they haven't been very talkative lately for a while, and it makes sense that the parent company finally decided to shut it down to limit its losses. If you think about it they must have been pretty much done analyzing their last phase 2 data for the last 30-50 days, just enough for HQ to make a decision.
I guess they could also move R&D somewhere else though. Who knowsLeave a comment:

These were my thoughts when I found out and tried to figure out another reason for this:
- You don't downsize your lab when planning to go to Phase 3! You expand. That's because instead of treating 200 patients at a given time, you are treating over 3000 simultaneously.
- You don't auction your entire lab equipment at a fraction of the cost when going into Phase 3 but rather build on it.
- If you are a multi-million dollar company like Aderans and your R&D department failed to come up with a better solution, you don't publicise it or boast about it but instead quietly shut down the program and move on with selling your wigs and transplants! (The show must go on)
I also have a feeling Histogen has HALTED their HSC program! They exhausted most of their capital to win the court battle and with this gloomy economic climate find it hard to find investors. They may fold at any point even though they have a decent growth stimulant on their hands! (Remember Neosh)
FOLLICA's recent news is also nothing but Hype! Everything they mentioned about wound healing & FGF-9 was conducted in mice. We have no way of knowing if this method will lead to follicular neogenesis in humans. After all these years, we should know better than falling for these lame tactics.
At least till now, REPLICEL has also NOT shown anything worth boasting about either. And to top it all up, their next update will be January 2015.
Bimatoprost also could NOT achieve results at least similar to Minoxidil, even though their formula was 9 times stronger than the eye drop formulation. They are now planning to increase the dose even further! I can assure you such high doses will NOT be without sides particularly permanent skin pigmentation and vertigo.
CB-03-01 was discovered to have anti-androgenic properties in early 2000! We have been waiting for over 14 years for the trials to begin in humans. This may come to market eventually but it won't be till 2018 the earliest! And that's if Cosmo Pharmaceuticals doesn't merge with another company by then and the new company doesn't shelf the product like they did with NEOSH.
I am not sure how to feel anymore! We've been dealt another major blow today. Even the 5 year mark doesn't look very promising. If Tsuji lab doesn't start their Phase I trial by 2015 then we will not see anything materialising from them till 2023-2025 as well!
Desmond what do you think about the rumors going around regarding indo/chromo? Lots of people are reporting that their hair has stopped falling out over long periods of time (6 months in some cases) while applying it. I'm starting an indo/chromo/minox thread and will be updating it at least weekly. PGD2 blockers seem to have an effect. Let's not give up hope. Just go down the next corridor until it ends, and so forth...Leave a comment:

Normally, I really do not like to pester these companies and bug them for various new developments on their technology. The last thing that I want to do is annoy the very people who are trying to help us regrow our hair and reclaim our lives. However, after all of this negativity regarding Aderans, I really got worried and I just phoned them.
I asked if they were terminating their hair loss technology and this fellow told me that they were not. He said something about "changing their scope" but he assured that they are not terminating their hair regeneration efforts. It was a huge relief to hear this.
I'm not sure if I was being told this simply because they want to keep their termination on the down-low until they formally announce it, or if this fellow was actually being genuine and forthcoming with me. Either way, he told me that they are not halting their hair regeneration efforts.Leave a comment:

I emailed them over two months ago to ask if I could sign up for a clinical trial and never got an answer.
Thanks though, I would really appreciate it! And I might hold you to that promise in the future
Goodnight folks, enough of the depressing forum vibe for the day!
Do us all a favor and leave histogen alone to do their work!!!Leave a comment:

I call bulls*** on histogen shutting down, those results were too good not to gain at least a few investors, that stuff is one phase away from launching in asia and it's a proven product at least to some extent(better than fin or min at least).
2ndly i dont see the bim hate, ive seen the 0.03% off-label stuff get better results than minoxidil, not sure where youre getting that it was worse than min? all they said is they could improve the results even more with a higher dose(although yes, we'll see what that means for side effects.
CB was always gery market.
Aderans was NEVER impressive.
Follica has a solid theory, so i dont see reason for pessimism until it's proven wrong.
see you can easily go more optimistic or negative on this stuff, it's all perspective, but what I see in general are ALOT of new theories and alot of options and alot of different ways that we are getting closer and closer to a cure or more significant product.Leave a comment:
