Yes, ketoconazole can cause shedding if you over use it. If you used 2% Nizoral more than once a week, yes you could shed from that. If you used 1% Nizoral more than twice a week, yes you can shed from that.
The devil is in the details and the details do matter. The makers of Regenepure leave out a vital detail too. They do not tell you how much ketoconazole is in Regenepure. For all you know, you might not even be using enough ketoconazole to make a difference.Comment

There are four things that I know the laser comb does. It increases the caliber of the hair that you have. It increases the strength of the hair that you have. It improves the quality of the hair that you have. It makes your hair grow faster. This includes hair that grows back from using Rogaine (Minoxidil). I do not have the means to be able to tell if using my laser comb has stimulated any "re-growth", but it has certainly stimulated growth and improved my hair noticeably and appreciably.
Finasteride blocks further hair loss but it does not stimulate regrowth. Finasteride "allows" hair follicles that can still grow hair to start growing hair again, but it does not stimulate those follicles to do so.
Both Minoxidil and Finasteride are appropriate for hereditary hair loss. Minoxidil can be appropriate for some of the other types of hair loss, but Finasteride is specifically for hereditary hair loss in males "MPB". If you do not have MPB, Finasteride is not appropriate for you.Comment

What are your thoughts on copper peptides? More specifically Tricomm. I've been reading a little on it and it seems like a decent hair product. I've decided I'm not going to mess around with any chemicals and go an all natural approach. Anyone have any good all natural remedies?Comment

There aren't any.Comment

So what you're saying is I have two options, take a pill that can take a hit on my libidio and possibly cause impotence or take a foam that my hair follicles could possibly get addicted to and possibly be force to take for life; all while having some possible side effects as well?
Just because there isn't any compelling evidence provided by the FDA that natural remedies work: doesn't mean they don't work. The FDA doesn't always perform things that are best for the consumer. Just look at the supplement business. Any company could add any amount of ingredients into a supplement and not divulge any of that information by slapping on a "proprietary blend" onto the ingredients label. Not only is there a lack of regulation, but the fact that I could legally obtain the prohormone in the first place tells me where their priorities are, or lack thereof. They are finally putting a ban on all prohormones, which is good for the most part, but they were still "steroids" to be sold legally, without a prescription. I actually knew what I was doing and did my research. I tried to take every precaution necessary and still exhibited the harsh side effects of it. I feel sorry for the people that bought the stuff and had no idea what they were taking. It's very misleading on the labels on what you actually bought was. Plus case studies can manipulate data to anything they want which the FDA could choose to overlook. They want to make a profit just like any other company and a majority of it is from drug research.
Anyways, I digress. I'm not saying that either finasteride or minoxidil doesn't work, I'm saying that the FDA is going to put more emphasis on drug research than they would on natural substances. If I can concoct my own natural remedies comprised of herbs and oils, it wouldn't cost much out of pocket. That's the point I was getting at. So the copper peptides is a waste of my time and money, too then?
And the problem isn't even in just the FDA, but doctors as well. Did you see how quickly that doctor was to prescribe me the finasteride? Sure he could have offered me to take just the minoxidil and see what happens from that point, but he recommended that I take a drug, prescribed by him. I honestly don't know who to trust and I'm not sure what the best course of action to take is.Comment

Right now every option outside of a hair transplant is a permanent lifestyle addition or you lose whatever was gained.
This is true in almost everything with regard to the body when it comes to things that affect hormones and what not. Once you make an adaptation you pretty much have to stick with it or you lose the benefits.
With regard to natural vs chemical remedies...I think if there was something sufficiently powerful enough to be a true secondary choice to Fin/Minox/Niz then it surely would have been found by now. I'm sure a lot of natural remedies can do the same exact thing, but to the same potency is another question. Maybe Saw Palmetto works for some because the amount of 5ar inhibition required for them is a whole lot less and Finasteride is unnecessarily potent? Its weird studies like that that will never happen.Comment

You need to go to a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss. You can find one here:
Stay away from the chain clinics like Bosley and such.Comment

I honestly still don't believe that I suffer from Male Pattern Baldness, it's just that my DHT levels were exceptionally high for the period of a few weeks and I didn't use the correct shampoo to counteract the DHT. I don't need something exceptionally strong, just something that would promote healthy hair growth. Who knows, I could be going bald anyways and suffer from Androgenic Alopecia and just be in denial. I guess the best thing is taking the proper steps as early as possible to avoid it from progressing any further.
You have a lot to learn and you are not getting it at all. You need to stop wasting your time in this forum or any other forum. You need to stop wasting your time e-mailing "clinics" and get yourself to a doctor for an in person examination, a thorough explanation of the different types of hair loss - and explanation of the realities of treating the different types of hair loss.

You do not understand hair loss. You do not understand the nature of hereditary hair loss. You do not understand what it takes to treat hair loss, especially hereditary hair loss. At this time you do not even know if you have hereditary hair loss or if the loss you have experienced is permanent.
You need an IN PERSON examination by a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss. Not a phone call. Not an e-mail. You need an in-person examination. Without an in person examination, any doctor will assume that you have hereditary hair loss - and of course they would recommend Finasteride.
The internet is full of BS about how to treat hair loss, and you are already starting to fall for some of that BS. You are not going to get anywhere or make any progress if you rely solely on your own misguided "research". You need the real information and you get that real information from a specialist, not from members of an internet forum.Comment

First, yes I do understand everything you just stated. Second, I don't appreciate your cantankerous attitude and would appreciate it if you could subdue your proclivities. Just because I am more open to other possibilities doesn't mean I don't know anything. My case is a little different as I took a foreign substance which induced my hair shedding. A person who understands how steroids work would be best person to go to. I am perfectly aware of what I need and I'm waiting to hear back from the doctor. Any sort of doctor with any critical thinking skills shouldn't just say go on this drug. That's a pretty irresponsible thing to do considering I very clearly explained my situation.
I appreciate your replies in trying to help me originally, but if you're going to continue with your condescending tone, feel free not to post in my thread. I can discern what hair loss is and how and why it occurs: otherwise I wouldn't have posted this thread and I don't need to be belittled.Comment

This is clearly deviating away from any sort of meaningful conversation and its obvious you feel need to get the last word in. Oh yeah and you don't have the power to say what I do and don't understand. Which I dounderstand.Comment
