I have experienced the sides and they suck. My semen was wattery and I found it really hard to get an erection. I've been off Fin for probably 12 months and I while I can get hard I am still loosing my locks. I pray that something arrests my hair loss this year!!!Leave a comment:

Tell me about it
We should all jump on the finasteride wagon till then. At least we have something to use.
Histogen's 2016 release should give most hairloss sufferers enough density to carry us to 2020.
By 2020, hopefully Aderans & Replicel will have a real solution for hairloss once and for all.
Most important thing is fin is vital to keep things together till then!Leave a comment:

Thats 3 years until it hits the Asian market? It will be even longer for the US.
A lot of hair can be lost in 3 years. You could advance a couple of norwoods.Leave a comment:

here's the quote to clarify
Phase one was just the safety pilot, then they moved on to phase I/II, now it's the long phase III as they've already proven it works on a small scale and is safe. There is no point in doing another year of small-scale phase II when they've already proven it's been safe for 2 years.
I've been doing a bit of research to see where Histogen is actually at. So this is what I found:
1) Histogen's Phase I/II study is actually a bit misleading. What they actually meant was: Histogen HSC solution is in Phase I, the device they used was in Phase II.
2) Histogen Phase IIa trial will be a 6 month study from Feb 2013 - July 2013. This will be a "dose-range finding" study, where they will test what the maximum number of injections they can give someone without causing any harm.
3) Phase IIb will be a 12 month "pivotal, safety & efficacy study" and should begin sometimes in Sep 2013 and end in sep 2014.
4) If all goes well, Phase III will be another 12 month trial in a large population probably 500-1000 subjects and should end sometimes in October 2015.
5) Add 3-4 months for FDA approval and we should have this product on the market early 2016.
Hope this clarifies everything guys, and sorry about misinforming everyone last week. The whole Phase I/II threw me off as well.
All the bestLeave a comment:

I guess, some hair growth is a major improvement, but have to say I hoped for more and that it is hard to judge how much(if any) improvent on pictures like that.Leave a comment:

Why assume this is an alternative to finasteride instead of an adjunct? Do we necessarily know it will maintain hair long term, like oral DHT inhibitors?
Also keep in mind, 20-25% increase in baseline hair count means for every 4-5 existing hairs, you get 1 more. 2020 is right that existing treatments can best this figure.
Right now I'm seeing it more as someone else said, 1 component of the "big 4." Maybe it will be more effective when it hits the market.Leave a comment:

Histogen is great guys, makes things a lot easier. If the science about PDG2 enzyme is correct, products that inhibit it in conjuction with Histogen SHOULD provide regrowth.
Just my opinion buy in terms of the science and ability to make REAL solutions, our future is bright. It is just a matter of having these things available to us and easily accessible + readily able to use. I don't really concern myself with hair multiplication unlimited donor supply etc, i dont expect it in the next 5 years personally but just the fact histogens formula is working (at low potency mind you), is good news.Leave a comment:

listen to the interview... their comments about REAL results - no trichoscan bullshit just plain what he looks like before, and what he looks like after. Something along the lines of "it really makes a cosmetic difference" was mentioned multiple times.
Why would all these doctors around the world bother repeating the same experiment as Histogen?
What do you mean, all these doctors?? It's only Ziering and he's in the US. The reason for Ziering's trial is because Histogen want a physician-sponsored trial to support their IND application. It is different from Histogen's in a couple of ways. First it involves men AND women, and second it doesn't involve head shaving (because it's not an option for most women). It's also in the US. The other trials have been in Honduras & the Philippines.Leave a comment:

I think you've made this point before though, what do you do for a living that requires so much travel?Leave a comment:

And to add I would take kiwis opinion over 2020s any day.
He has tried fin etc and has had hair transplants.
Furthermore, I think that the guys that are bitter about histogen are high norwoods that are hoping for extreme regrowth.
When hsc is just minoxidil and fin combined that will be used in conjunction with a hair transplant.Leave a comment:

Why do you care what 2020 has to say.
Histogen is so much better then the current treatments.
And those photos kick ass. If Histogen is ONLY sold as a treatment to halt your hairloss and you get some growth thrown in for free.... then that is awesome news for balding brothers.
Seriously don't worry about 2020. He's just being a grumpy bugger and is now a sceptic after being a replicell fanboy. I hope he just goes away to some other forums where people get off moaning all day.
Of course I wish there was something better right now too but beggars can't be choosers.

I am hoping that there will be more results to be released. 2020 why are they continuing with developing the product if there is no room for improvement?
I know I said this earlier and you implied that they are continuing it just for money. But if the treatment is really that poor and if they can't show decent results by the time it is ready for release then no one would spend any money on it what so ever! It isn't exactly cheap research and science to be continuing with so they must have confidence in their product, no?
