Yes Kiwi, please elaborate. Also, couldn't shed be good if it leads to stronger, more regrowth? Anyone have any info, whether scientific or actual evidence, on why Equol would have any side effects? Why just handcuffing DHT would still have side effects?

to shed on fin you need to be on it for quite a while. So kiwi might just be messing around to amuse himself. If not, please give more info....

Noone else has reported such a bad shed. Plus, he said it in the middle of all the LSD jokes.

            Hi I am new.

I don't remember if it was in this thread or in a thread on another forum, but someone posted a study, in which some men that were administered isoflavones ended up turning into equol producers after three months. I think they were only two or three in a group of ten, I'm not sure.

Now say, do you think I can become an equol producer eating one kilogram of soy-beans (wich is one of the most (If not the most) isoflavones-rich food) a day for about, I don't know, maybe a year or two?

Of course, we don't even know for sure if equol could really help us maintaining our hair, but what the hell, I'm bored anyways.

I will replace all meat in my diet (except fish) for soy-beans, I won't eat anymore eggs neither. Soy-beans, soy-beans and soy-beans, (and a little bit of fish and of course all my veggies, fruits, grains, and all that crap. I have not eaten any dairy since a year I think). It should be easy, since I don't have taste (I lost it when I was younger). I will start in September.

I know some say eating that much soy could be dangerous (because of the phytoestrogens), but I think I will be all right, and even If I don't, I don't care about the risk, because I am one bad mother******!. Also, I know I won't have any trouble with my proteins, since soy proteins are almost as complete as meat proteins, and I will still be eating some fish anyway.

So... what do you think?, I mean, yeah, I already know you think I'm an idiot, but do you think It will work or not? do you think my body will be able to produce equol after maybe some years?...

with that and some probiotics you may but you still would have to eat soy for the rest of your life in order to produce equol.
Equol is not produced by itself if you don't eat soy

A small update, I've been on equol for 3 weeks now.
Hm, really nothing major. The itch is still here, maybe a bit decreased.
                No other factors.

I'll report more in the future.

                    Hi,
                    10 mg daily, as recommended.
I really hope my itch goes away, that would mean a whole lot to me.

I was considering taking Folexen (S-equol) to stop my thinnning. I am on Toco8 at the moment, not a month in yet and am seeing no changes. Should I drop Toco8 if I take up Folexen? I know Toco8 rasies test levels and someone on this thread mentioned dropping it if you were taking this.

Could both together be counter productive or are both together benefical? Or is it a case that nobody knows?

I'm wondering about the same thing.
I'm taking toco sorb along equol - contraindications?

Ps, there is this powerful antioxidant called ASTAXANTHIN, derived from algae - it's said to be 550 (!) times more powerful than vitamin E, plus it relieves pain from arthritis - and we know it has a connection with hair loss (inflammation...)

Therefore - I plan on adding this to my regimen and cutting down toco sorb - I've been taking it for almost 6 months, and I cant say I see a difference.

I'm more than halfway through my third bottle/tub of Toco 8, absolutely no changes. Highly doubt that it does anything.

                            agreed.

I think lowering inflammation is the key (or one of). Afore mentioned astaxanthin might help with that.

pretty good news from me. I'm 1.5 bottles into equol (4 pill daily), and since 10 days ago my itch has drastically decreased! My estimate would be 80% less. It is a bit stronger on the days I have sex/masturbate more than 2 or 3 times daily.
But I try to regulate that...

I also use a new organic shampoo since a few days ago, I think its danish, from a company called urtekram. I bought it in a local bio & organic shop, it's cheap, but a few people already talked about it and how good it is.
