Yes it does, even if on a subconscious level. Bald 20 somethings don't look right. People don't hire people in professional fields that don't look right.

I'm only referring to those who are more bald than NW3.

NW3s and less are not viewed by most of society as balding.

If you are a 20 something guy with more hairloss than NW3, you are screwed.

However, all the crusty, old, white partners in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are bald. However, they do not hire 20 something balding guys.

Balding in your 20s = no job
Balding in your 30s = some deterrent
              Balding in your 40s, 50s, 60s = nobody cares.
I'm sorry, but this is absolute bs. Are you in public accounting? I've seen plenty of 20s balding CPAs at the big 4.

Not yet. I'm a student. I've not seen younger guys with hair loss get good accounting jobs. Young balding guys get shitty jobs as backroom, back office, staff accountants at local yocal companies. Attractive people go to the big 4.

Hmmm. No. Americans are far more likely to do something about their hairloss (transplants, pills etc). Its taboo everywhere, but very taboo in UK. Compare the HT industry in the UK to the US, its a bit of a joke.

The guys in their 20s though, are willing to do something about it.

In terms of obsession. I dont see it. There are plenty of americans and brits on the boards that are obsessed. Never noticed more either way. Maybe more americans simply because of a far greater population.

Forums are a terrible way of quantifying something like this. The vast majority of people dont even use forums. Most people on these forums are obsessed, if we choose to admit it or not

As someone IN the industry. I know you're flat out wrong. The people that get into the big 4 are the ones who had amazing grades in college and did an internship with the big 4. It has nothing to do with hair loss.

I knew this guy who worked at Delloite who was soooo bald and only 27. He left them get get a better position at the company I worked for because he was brilliant and worked hard. The owner of the multibillion dollar company I worked for would hire young big 4 talent and pay them well to work them to death. This owner happens to be one of the top 50 richest people in the world. I won't get more specific as to give away people's identities.

Finally someone with sense. Take it for someone that knows a lot of people that hire people, balding in your 20's is looked upon as if you have a disease. It is bad for corporate morale. No one wants to be near them. Bad for productivity.

These guys are blaming their hairloss on their failures in life....that is probably why they are not able to work in top firms, lack the focus.

All a company cares about is making money, if you are passionate and good at your job, they will hire you.

Go on the tube, and you will see plenty of guys with MPB.

One friend of mine actually is in the diamond industry selling stones, aside from the odd joke about his receeding hairline, he is doing well.
