Final Days: Chinese Scientists Have Solved the DP Culturing Problem! (2014)

they could do it right away and I guess they are. It would make sense to do that last experiment before moving onto the next step: clinical trials (although these guys in Taiwan are already starting that). The whole experiment would probably take about 2 months, so give them some time. I hope/expect to see such result before summer ! -
They could try doing that now. What's stopping any one of them from taking a crack at it, the FDA?I think it will be all over the news again when they succeed at the next step: bringing the theory into practice. Everybody wants to see the photo's of human hair, grown out of cultured cells, on human skin. When that happens, I think it will be all over the news. Hopefully soon ! Even if it were only human foreskin on a SCID mouse again (like Jahoda did last year), it would still be huge !
Getting reeeeaaaal tired of the slow progress.Leave a comment:

One of us COULD tip them off. Send an email to a writer/editor...Hehe. The same thing happened with Jahoda's finding. I remember when Dr Nigam visited WCHR 2013 in May and reported about Jahoda's breakthrough. I think it took about 10 days before somebody in the forum said "Wait a minute ... this is HUGE, he basically succeeded at growing hair from cultured cells", nobody else had realized that ! Then it took until fall last year before the media started reporting about it (Jahoda released the official study results/paper then).
So don't be surprised if it goes the same way here and the media will report september 2014 about this, again. Well if the media was on top of it, we could close down this section of the forum anyway eh

Well, to play devils advocate... if we take into consideration hair loss researcher's track record, UK_ is pretty spot on. The word 'slow' is definitely synonymous with their progress.I have to diasgree with you this time..
i am not saying we're going to see a cure (or even a treatment) soon..
but these kind of articles we should read, not the one we read on the news.. these are peer-reviewed articles based on scientific evidence.. people who work their ass everyday...
They aren't promising us anything.. but this kind of scientists are taking us one step closer to finding a cure for baldness...Leave a comment:

I have to diasgree with you this time..Because it's not a cure. It's just ANOTHER false-hope article about some research team who CLAIM to have done something amazing but as usual nothing will come of it, because, as fate would have it, we are still around 40 years of research away from even beginning to develop a decent treatment for hair loss.
If you decide to spend the next 40 years following hair loss research I can guarantee you one thing: hundreds if not thousands of articles like this one, but nothing more... just articles... articles articles articles articles, you're [all] living a dream in the mythical world of journalism, I suggest you wake up and realise we are all half a century away (if not more) from even beginning to think about a cure for hair loss.

Hi UK, I totally understand you frustration and for sure you have been around long enough to go over quiet a few "potential cures" just to end up with another disappointment.Because it's not a cure. It's just ANOTHER false-hope article about some research team who CLAIM to have done something amazing but as usual nothing will come of it, because, as fate would have it, we are still around 40 years of research away from even beginning to develop a decent treatment for hair loss.

But visiting the cutting edge section should mean that you believe in the possibility of finding a cure for baldness within our lifetime.
There are plenty of researchers and companies seriously working on it and even though it might not happen as fast as we all want we will get there before you know itLeave a comment:

Let's not attack UK_, he's deeply unhappy. A while ago he PM'd me on another forum saying he only trolls because he's depressed. Just ignore/humour him guys.Leave a comment:

2735 posts only to troll the forum.
At least, support your ridiculously bold claims with actual evidence. You won't do that? OK then, we'll just ignore your posts.Leave a comment:

You assume that everything is in place, but we are on the outside peaking in through a hazy window. You don't know all the problems behind the scene.
It isn't like a math test where you have 10 problems and you know you need to find 10 solutions. These researchers have to trial and error and once they fix one problem another may pop up.
If everything was in place, why wouldn't they move forward? Whoever fund these researchers definitely set deadlines and expect progress so you don't have to worry if its going fast enough. It is going as fast as it can, its business after all.
Dude, if you confident there won't be a cure for 40 years then get away from this forum and move forward with your life. What are you antagonizing for, do you secretly hope that we convince that what you think is wrong? I don't see the logic of why you would stay on this forum.Because it's not a cure. How come this isn't all over the news "Baldness cure found" ???
I'm anxious to read that part where it says ",but it's still in the experimental stage, and much work is needed to be done. 10 more years until human trials."Leave a comment:
