Ask who? Does anyone owe you this? Are you entitled to someone else giving you something because you're unhappy?Leave a comment:

I'm a realistic person, i'm not waiting for a cure, just a better and safer treatment than propecia.. but it seems like it's a lot to ask for..Leave a comment:

Exactly. Consistent, steady progress; not as fast as we'd hope, but good progress is being made and we are seeing small signs every six months. This is really good.
Luckily for those like us who will continue to bald quite a bit at least before anything new comes out, it seems like prevention of hair loss and creation of new follicles are related to the same scientific concepts and in other words once you understand how to do one, you also understand how to do the other.Leave a comment:

I actually feel as if everyone is somewhat manufacturing their products around Follica's research, if Follica claimed that they'd used goats droppings in their latest round of trials with results then I know of at least one company that will market it and another will put large sums of money behind it to exploit the market asap, whether it is true or not let alone beneficial is not important to them as long as they can get some sort of returns based purely on hype.
Follica have been around for quite a while but from a technical stand point have always been progressing at a steady pace, I'd just like to have some sort of deeper understanding and knowledge of where they are technically at direct from the horses mouth.
Given what I have read there seems to be adequate information to suggest they they are not working towards a treatment to halt hair loss and maintain it rather they are attempting to reverse hair loss and regrow strands of hair where there once was.Leave a comment:

No one owes you a treatment dude, you can't think like you're being cheated by somebody if at this point in time there is not treatment.Leave a comment:

They're definitely NOT going to release a product that simply slows down hair loss... we've had garbage products like that for the last 20+ years; finasteride and minoxidil.
Spencer Kobren confirmed they created NEW hair follicles...Leave a comment:

It's confusing exactly what their treatment will actually be able to do, one place I read quotes about reversing baldness and another just slowing down hair loss. I just hope it comes out in time before my thinning gets out of reach for this treatment

Yup. These guys have a lot of hard talk here and no follow-through.
Getting tired of the words possible, potential, within x-number of years, etc. Its about effing time someone actually did something more than flap their gums.Leave a comment:

Ugh, yeah, spoken spoken spoken to death about commercialization... but never commercialized.Leave a comment:

Very true but we must keep in mind Follica are the ones who have spoken about commercialization in multiple occasions. I think anyone who looks at their story closely cannot be anything other than excited.
Despite what people have said on the forums, even their latest publication in December showed significant efforts directed at mechanisms to manipulate hair follicle growth. Researchers obviously knew already about the importance of WNT but that doesn't mean they don't need to carry out experiments to learn how to exploit it practically.
They have a device that applies studied techniques to wound the skin and with the application of topicals that are currently on the market for other purposes (read, no clinical trials needed), they have been able to create new hair follicles consistently.
Now they need to master the manipulation of whichever compounds and factors need to be inhibited or stimulated (and to what extent) so they can achieve the results they know we want to pay for. And they have been developing protocols to do all this.
Yeah be skeptical if you want, but I think anyone who is reasonable and wants to look at the facts has to be excited. This is great progress they have made and they surely will keep going in this direction.Leave a comment:

On a bright note though we have the drugs that supposedly can help with the discovery of kotsarelis in clinical trials right now so we will know sooner how this works, but still progress as others say seems too slow and i am not sure if we can avoid propecia even if the new cure from kotsarelis comes.Leave a comment:

The thing is guys that we follow these things too early in the game, we know them before there are any trials due to the power of the internet. They announce something and we think that its around the corner. I think these things are very experimental and we get ahead of ourselves thinking we are saved. I know it sucks but if they had something close to becoming reality big pharma and corporations would go overboard who is gonna acquire them first. There are thousands small start ups which try to bring better cures and medicine for various diseases, all of them pass some milestones all of them publish but only a few ever succeed and become rich.
Even worst some of them researchers know that their quest might not be completed until some new technologies and understandings come to reality, but they want to have their name as the first who recognised the problem, the first who solved the riddle so when these new technologies ever come and the cure is found they will be forever known as the ones who saw the solution and they were ahead of their time but they just didn't have the means to get to it back then.Leave a comment:

Maybe it is not as simple as we think it is to solve.
Put it this way, it is in his interest to solve it - not only because financially it will make him very rich, but also because of the kudos/recognition he will get for solving a problem that has never been solved before.Leave a comment:
