No this is a new patent on a new vehicle that inhibits systemic absorption. This is not topical fin like crushed up propecia in a pg vehicle or whatever.Comment

69.3–74.0% with P-3074 b.i.d., 67.6–80.4% with P-3074 o.d., and
69.7–76.1% with the oral formulation.Comment

Hey guys...I did a few calculations and realised that each 100ml bottle will contain 250mg of finasteride. That's 50 x 5mg finasteride tablet or 250 x 1mg finasteride tablets you'll be using in 1 month!
Now if you use 2ml per day that means you applied 5mg of finasteride on your skin. On average 10% gets absorbed which means 0.5 mg enters your bloodstream!
I really doubt this would reduce the risks of sides and wanted to warn those that are particularly sensitive to finasteride!
This kind of explains why plasma dht was reduced by the same amount compared to oral tablets...
Hope it helps...Comment

Because this is localised to the hair, would it be better at causing maintenance/growth to the hair??Comment

Guys, this makes no sense! Why are they developing a topical product if it doesn't reduce side effects?! Do they think it will work even better than oral finasteride? So confused!!Comment

Fin is a type II 5α-reductase inhibitor!
Fin is a type II 5α-reductase inhibitor. 5α-reductase is an enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
So FIN does not react with or affect DHT directly. It only inhibits the chemical (5α-reductase) that creates DHT from Testosterone.
So if you have FIN in your scalp but not in your blood, wouldnt it be useless as the enzyme 5α-reductase will still make DHT???
Could someone confirm this as not sure my science is quite rightComment

Topical spironolactone works at the site and not in the blood as it is good for skin acne and i think that dutas and finast will be systemic and that was the same for topical flutamide which caused side effects.
Thats why people try ru58841 as it was supposed to be non systemic and work at the site of application although there have been some success with topical progestorone and cyclosporin topical combined with minoxidil but i think some clinics using this also use oral finasteride as well and you may have to have regular blood tests to check hormon levels.
I have been using hairagain which has some natural progestorone in it as well as regrowth agents and i must say the gel is very nice to use its available in uk and us as im using with the igrow laser helmet.Comment
