I again agree with UK_. This was all empty hype. I think it's VERY obvious that the hair loss "industry" wants to keep its patients in the dark ages with finasteride, minoxidil, FUE and their "gold standard" FUT. All this extra theorizing and pontificating about new knowledge is just that, hot air, it's not leading to anything new you can get in a pharmacy, and hasn't for decades now.Leave a comment:

I wish there was any medication to combat this plague when I was young. But there was nothing.
Today young people are much more lucky than we were back at my time; at least they have some options now that will allow them to keep most of their hair for years.Leave a comment:

I have followed the conference through this forum, and i don't think it was a succes. the only thing what sounds great is topical finasteride.
But what can we actually expect from topical finasteride? and will this is ever be realized?Leave a comment:

So after all is said and done.. do we have any more information after the congress than we had before it?
Another wasted over-hyped bag of balls.Leave a comment:

I wouldn't beat yourself up over that. Those drugs are vastly overrated. Propecia is ok for maintenance but if they can restore a good head of hair you are in the vast minority.
I know from my own personal experience they work ok but tend to slow down being rather than stop itLeave a comment:

Bring on Histogen!!!
Bring on topical fin (if it had no sides and is even more effective)Leave a comment:

True.
In fins case, you are right. I used fin for 3 years, just slowed down my hair loss, considerably. Fin is definitely a drug that should be used for NW1-2's who want to keep what they have. NW3-4 need Dutasteride+Rogaine to have a chance go back to NW2. NW5+ need everything, dutasteride, rogaine, spiro, nizoral shampoo, and an HT.
The results Dutasteride + Rogaine has given me in the short period of time i've been on it is unreal. I never would have thought this would happen even in 3-4 months, I was determined to only expect any thickening or regrowth at 6 months, at least 6 months.
These drugs aren't overrated at all. What's overrated is the side effect claims, IMO.
Anyway, wish me luck.
I lost my ability to mantain an erection because of Fin. I don't think you'd be calling it overrated if your pecker stopped working.
Fortunately for me everything started working again.Leave a comment:

If you catch your hair loss early enough, that's all you really need.
I wish I had a hair loss mentor when I was younger. Some one to show me the ropes on hair loss medications. Instead I had to do it the hard way, with years of learning through forums. The results i'm seeing right now on dutasteride and rogaine in only 7 weeks, indicate that if I would have started this at 18 and stayed on it every day till the present day, I wouldn't even be here posting and would have had an NW negative 3 instead of NW3.

I think we'd all better get used to accepting that if there is ever anything new for combating MPB that is real, available and proven in our lifetimes, it's obviously decades away, and all we have is Fin, Dut and Rogaine for now, in terms of anything short of surgery. This "congress", it's all hot air and theorizing and masturbation but nothing of actual use for anyone. This whole industry is a hollow money making sham.
