Oh but I didn't mean it for the survivability, I just meant that does Acell improve the texture of the scar more so than regular grafting? I thought you might know...thanks again.Leave a comment:

Yes that helps, I had 125 grafts (mostly 3's and 2's) placed into my scar which is fairly small and not too long so that may be all that I need but I am just under two months and have yet to have any hairs grow in but I am sure the scar will improve as many others have said the texture of their scars have improved as well, some say it is almost skin like when you place hair into the scarred area, I hope so. However, I am just hoping I can find something that can further reduce the whiteness such as Recell or Fraxel in 10 or so months if need be, if not then great. It is just that I heard that ACELL can do this, though I have not quite grasped if they soak the hairs in it or not as I am just beginning to research ACELL but I think that is right. Thanks for your opinion, I will probably end up going the Recell route if I need to further the appearance of the scar in 10 months time or so as the results look amazing with the spraying on of actual skin, take care.Leave a comment:

Hi Stevie
Hope your good .
I have seen Drs who have many excellent results posted from strip ,who have recently started using Acell, and post results of strip removal with Acell used in the donor , its difficult to arrive at a conclusion as the prior strip work, without Acell was excellent , and the more recent work with Acell is excellent also , so my view is that i struggle to see any proof that its in any way beneficial to a patient .
My own experience with my scars is that the grafts re establish the blood supply in the scar tissue and provide a massive cosmetic improvement to the tissue , lessening the whiteness of the scar tissue
If i understand you correctly you plan to have your grafts bathed in Acell before being implanted ? I think the claims are that this improves graft survivability , my view is that i achieved approximately 99% growth without any healing aids , so again i have yet to see any proof that this could be beneficial to the patient
Hope this Helps

Hey Ejj, I would like to ask you a question. As you know I am grafting my scar as well although mine is pretty small and I figure I will only need 2 passes at most. I don't doubt that perfect density can be acheived in a scar like mine that is pretty small, however, there still can be a whitish line that I felt can be remedied by some laser whether it be fraxel, a pulse dye laser and recently I have been looking into recell which is particularly attractive because it actually sprays skin over the scar, yet I have much research to do still. However, a friend of mine said that ACELL can also improve the scar texture into almost skintone or exactly like it by implanting small Acell sheets into the scar. I realize that ACELL did not go well for you with the strip procedure, however do you have any knowledge on these Acell sheets that can be implanted into the scar that can possible improve the texture, I was told to ask you. Basically, my scar is a little smaller than this and not as long but if it had the same outlined whiteness I feel I can fix it with one of these methods http://www.hairlossexperiences.com/v...90&forum_id=26, what you you think Ejj? I mean do you have any knowledge on this? Who did your ACELL strip again? But just to be clear I am just interested in placing ACELL grafts into the scar....thanks again.Leave a comment:

Gotta love to hear that! From someone who's heard those words before I can simply say it was liberating.
Had a haircut yesterday my hairdresser said there is ` no need to grow the hair longer in places to hide and cover the scarring , and we can cut a uniform length now` , pretty good to hear , its incredible how much of an overall improvement Dr Bisanga and all at Bhr have made to my everyday life
all the best
