Looking good. Your hair on top is looking solid. It's one thing to have a strip scar and reasonable coverage on top. It's particularly distressing for those men who have donor scars and thin to no hair on top. Beard hair works great for repair work as well as thickening things up where needed. It does look natural and blends right in when placed correctly.

    Hi Jetfan,

Thanks for your kind words. I will check the length when I next have a cut, I don't think I am to far off a number 4 guard though.

The initial scar was approximately 30 cms sq, however the scarred area was increased by my attempted repair by another 20 cms sq just above my nape area, and by another 10 cms sq over my left ear.

Below are some photographs taken before any repair, then an attempted repair, then at initial consultation with BHR before any repair with them, then three years after 1000 beard grafts into the left hand side scarring.

I thought I would include a couple of pictures showing the effects of side weighting the grafts, from left to right in my case, and the effects this has when styling your hair to your advantage. I had a cut last week and this is the shortest I have been able to go to in 20 years !

All the best and take care

Congrats ejj. Huuuuge improvement. Do you think you could ever use a clipper grade? Maybe a 4? How bug was original scar?

Thx you for posting all this.

fantastic results with only 1000 grafts. I've said this before, whenever you are able to cut your hair shorter than you have in decades, its literally liberating. you almost feel as though your not hiding anything anymore. Thanks so much for the update.

Do you have plans for further sessions? have you thought of using tricopigmentation to enhance your results?

Wanted to chime in Ejj.... It's been about 6 months now since your last session. How's everything going? You should have good growth at this point... About 60-70% anyway.

    Hope your reaching those goals...

I have similar disaster scar and am planning some beard grafts. How is your coverage now? I'd love to see a pic if you're up for it!

What a great thread! I think this gives a ton of multi procedure guys a little hope that those nasty strips are not life sentences. I'm looking at 1000 late this year, early next year. I had a few beard grafts placed in strip scars during last FUE procedure, and honestly, in 5 days there was no sign of extraction. You could easily say you were wearing a hat and got sunburn if discretion was a concern.

Looks like you can also do more passes should you desire. Congrats

Below are two pictures I took at day 5 post op. The donor area at this stage is pinkish and almost back to normal. Now for the long wait!

    Hi North East Guy

Total now extracted from my beard is about 3800. The punch used is .8mm manual. I have added a picture 48 hours after the procedure.

    Thanks for the comments.

ejj ..... that is impressive. How many total beard grafts is that now for you? most important, do you know what size punch he used?

..... funny, I'm worried about doing 200-300 beard grafts and you just did 950 of a couple thousand?

Do you remember what the donor looked like 48 hours post procedure? If you can remember, take a pic for me.... would like to get an idea of what I'll be dealing with that far out. of course we all heal differently but it helps. Friday is my second pass.

    thanks!

I have just returned from BHR after having 950 beard grafts placed into my mid scalp. I have attached a picture of the donor today 24 hours later, and will update with placement when I get the pictures from the clinic.

    Many Thanks

    Hi ejj

Many thanks for posting the update. You've healed very well and as said have not had a small amount of grafts.

The doctor and the team look forward to having you with us again soon.

donor after 3000 extractions from face and chin.

These pictures of the donor area were taken this morning after wet shaving.
Some people have asked me about white dot scarring in the donor area, and have expressed concerns over this due to what they have been told during consultations.

My plan was to consult and meet with patients who had undergone the procedure and have a look for myself, as a repair patient I thought that this was the most sensible approach to take. Once I had done this I then had the confidence to proceed with my first procedure. If you are unsure you can always have a small test procedure to assess your own individual healing.
