DENOVO technique there is no tansecting.bisecting of graft as there is in INVITRO?
It 's over. Dr. Mwamba confirmed Nigam!

Splitting FU's (like HASCI seems to do, so 1x2 FU = 2x1FU) is of course not doubling, you don't end up with more hair. So Mwamba must be talking about extracting a 2 FU, split it and generate 4 hairs in recipient and then re-grow that 2 FU in donor with the cultured cells.Comment

The way I understand it, there is. It's basically just the same as InVitro doubling (so extracting the follicle and split it under a microscope), but the difference is that both halves go into recipient and donor should regenerate via the injected cells + growth factor. So it's not doubling, it's tripling.Comment

"DE-NOVO DOUBLING CAN GIVE 100% REGEN AT RECIPIENT(LIKE FUE) AND APPROX.60% AT THE DONOR"
Downside of denovo over invitro is that regeneration is only 60%, compared to closto to 100% BUT you get twice the hair in recipient.
Is that how it worksComment

That's the thing. How long has Nigams been doing this ? When Boldy was there just recently, he didn't even have his 3d culture equipment in ! So to me this all sounds like speculation and Nigams cant know anything just yet regarding numbers. It might work, it might not work. Mwamba confirms he doesn't know either but he obviously has quite some hope it works, he seems to be hopeful and confident. But I just dont want to get too excited just yet, I always hate disappointments (like HASCI reallly disappointed me).Comment

Putting the complicated donor aspect to one side for a moment, how do they actually split it? I know it's done under microscope, but how would they bisect a 2 hair FU for example?
I remember reading for Tom's case they bisected the upper 2 thirds into the recipient and the lower third into the donor. I can only assume they put upper 2 thirds in recipient and also the lower third in another section of the recipient. Sound right?Comment

For example I was thinking about Hellouser ? He's very passionate about hairloss solutions, I'm sure he'll be around next year and he can make incredible photo's. He'd need to shave his hair down though. And I don't know if he's even interested.
I was also thinking about going there myself but I really hate flying those distances. I always HATE flying to Europe already and that's only half of the tripOr what about you Didi ? Some time ago I didn't trust you too much since you seemed overly pro-Nigams but you showed that you're skeptical too so nowadays I do trust you too
Or anybody else ?
Would love to speed things up a bit !Comment

Usually the lower half goes into the donor, as per Toms case right?
Reason I ask is because if Tom's recipient is showing good growth in the next couple of months, then at least we know this side of things is working as expected.Comment

You know what, can't we organize something to speed all this up ? I hate to wait a year for Mwamba to present his results. If we could find a forum member that is trustworthy to do a 100 graft test, from who we know he'll still be around next year, who can shoot good photo's, then why not donate something to get it going ? I would have no problems donating something like a $1000. A few pages back I suggested GC but GC said, and thinking about it he's right, he might not be a good subject since he just had his HST.

Realistically though, I'd much rather go for a full procedure; 2000 grafts at recipient to restore density and get myself down to around an NW1.5. Probably like many of you, I'm more interested in 'go big or go home'
That said, in respect to photography, you can be damn sure I'd take proper photos, but I don't know if I'd want to keep my head shaved for long.Comment
