Lol. It is just about providing people with useful advice. Telling them 'go see a specialist' and 'rogaine, propecia, nizoral' are all approved FDA blah blah. Docters do not know SHIT about hairloss and the medications they are prescribing. Some people who don't have as aggressive hairloss may be lucky and it works for them. I got no warning of sides, no request for blood tests, i had to ask for hormone test and the bozo said no. Bottom line, do research, encourage research, provide actual studies and journals etc,

Agreed, this is apparently only phase one(of the actual solution, phase two of the device?) of the stuff and this is the results they're getting already. Means increased dosage could bring more and more growth.
There are alot of positive pathways this could go down and with a 80%+ response rate I dont see many negative things.
it's a small but significant start, absolutely zero reason to start crying.Comment

As much as I would love for it to be true, unfortunately it's not
Here's a link to their current study:
it clearly states:
Biological: Hair Stimulating Complex (HSC) --> Phase I
Device: Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium, DMEM --> Phase II
This kind of explains why they only injected 8 shots rather than 200-300. It was merely a safety study!
Can't wait to see some kick ass results in Phase II thoughComment

Doesn't that mean we should expect to see a much, much, higher increase with around 20-30X the dose?!?Comment

Phase II (Dose-range finding) study will be a 6 month study from Feb 2013 till July 2013. So, we should have some SERIOUS results by July 13 hopefully.
To be honest, although we have to wait, we have something to look forward toso don't worry brother...life's good and its only gonna get even better! Use something to keep what you have in the meantime and live your life as best as you can

I'm a pharmacist and to be honest with you, I'm not so sure if taking Propecia at your age is really a good idea. You're body is still developing and your hormones are still a roller coaster!
We will know by Feb 2013 if Aderans will have a viable treatment or not...hang in till then. Enjoy your xmas holidays and based on the results they release decide how you're gonna tackle your hairloss.
Let me know, if you have any questions brother...I'm always here to helpComment

That DMEM stuff is just the delivery medium. It is not in Phase II, Phase II is efficacy testing and you don't test a vehicle for efficacy.
The info in that table is to be read in columns, NOT ROWS. It is saying the following: the treatment of HSC is undergoing both Phase I safety and Phase II efficacy trials.
It is NOT saying that HSC is in Phase I only and DMEM is in Phase II only.
If you want final proof of this, check the primary outcome measures. One is safety, the other is terminal hair count. So efficacy is a primary outcome measure! That means it is in Phase II.
If you want even more proof, have a look at other Phase I/II trials on that site. Here's one example of several I found, search for trial NCT01121731. The primary outcomes clearly show all three drugs in that trial are in both Phase I and II.
The bad news is this doesn't mean they go straight to Phase III next. They will probably need more Phase IIs. But the good news is that HSC is definitely in Phase II trials.Comment

Check out gutted's msm/vit c thread, some people have had success with it.
I doubt you will lose much hair over the next 6 months.Comment

No, it doesn't clearly state that. As I've said repeatedly, you guys are reading the site wrong.

Hmmm, Pate you might be right!
Looking at it again, DMEM was just a placebo shot they used in the placebo group! That obviously doesn't even need to be in a Phase II lol...
With regards to more Phase II trials. I tend to agree as well. Now that they did 8 shots and its all OK, they will jack up the number of shots to see what happens. Either way, early 2016 launch seems to be quite realistic.Comment

I honestly am not getting my hopes up. All I care about is the trial results and if the safety and efficacy is proven in the way I expect it to be. Whether they actually put it on the market 3, 4, 5, 6, whenever years from now, I dont care I am getting my hands on it regardless. If the science is there and proven, we are in good shape.Comment
