Hey guys, I just realised that ppl have misunderstood what I was referring to when I said 2020.

Now, Tsuji Lab will most definitely be after 2020, reasons being safety of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPS) transplantation PLUS mastering the art of multiplication! As Arashi said before, we have never done a iPS cell transplantation in a HUMAN before and there's a lot of precautions and long term safety studies to be conducted before Tsuji gets the green light to proceed in human trials! But the important thing is the ball IS rolling and the first trial will be in blind ppl NOVEMBER this year!

Having said that, all other treatments being discussed on this forum will either fail before 2020 or will be released! No doubt about it!

Most will be available sometimes between 2016-2018! The most promising ones being Histogen & CB-03-01!

We will know more about the status of Replicel and Aderans by 11th of May this year so keep ur fingers crossed!

So im guessing 2015 histogen release in asia is out of the question?

It may be! It all depends on how well Histogen plans their Phase 2b and how quickly they receive funding for it!

Phase 2b alone takes 18 months. They will then need another 6 months to get approval in an Asian country!

So, if Histogen starts Phase 2b immediately (by June) we should have it available in Korea or Singapore by June 2015!

Let's see what they announce about the next Phase in May

I'm not "hysterically" stirring any pot. I'm just as anxious as the next guy for the next best treatment to come out, but what I was stating was simply the obvious...the next best treatment is years away. Nobody knows when Histogen or Aderans will be released or if they ever will be.
It mustn't have been all too obvious to you, if reading that we'll be waiting for the Tsuji Team for at least 10 years got you going with feelings of depression that you weren't struggling with formerly just a minute ago. If the medication is not right for you, you might wanna trade in your Propecia for my Prozac.

Clarence you have issues, I think that's been determined. You sound very bitter. Is that a noted side effect of the Propecia you take?

These propecia consuming guys tend to be very arrogant and look anyone who has not been taking propecia as inferior.

Agreed. I'll never personally use Propecia again, although I did give it a whirl for a year when I was 25.

Clarence, however, is extremely bitter at life and it shows in his posts. Very arrogant, retarded comments he makes to get a rise from people on an Internet forum for that matter.

People like him annoy that holy hell out of me.

Hey guys, just a quick update!

For those that read the journal published by Tsuji & co probably know that Tsuji labs was using some embryonic stem cells to form a hair germ! Now, obviously as adults suffering from hairloss we lack embryonic stem cells...that was one of the shortcomings of this study...

Now, Dr Koboyashi & co from Keio University in Japan have come up with a way to bypass this step by forming Keratinocyte-precursor cells that mimic embryonic Keratinocytes!

This is another piece of the puzzle solved to get Tsuji into Human trials

Here's the abstract to this fascinating study:

Human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived keratinocyte precursors contribute to hair follicle regeneration in vivo

Hair follicle (HF) morphogenesis and cycling depends on bi-directional epithelial-mesenchymal interactions. Recent human HFs regeneration studies suggested that embryonic and neonatal keratinocytes (KCs) better respond to hair inductive dermal signals than adult KCs, yet, supply of such juvenile and plastic KCs is limited.

We examined whether keratinocyte precursors (KCPs) derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) represent a promising material for HF regeneration, substituting KCs with innate plasticity. Three iPS lines generated with 4 or 3 factors (Oct3/4, Sox2, Klf4 +/− cMyc) were converted into embryoid bodies, exposed to retinoic acid and bone morphogenetic protein-4 to generate iPS-KCP lines expressing early KC markers keratin 18, p63 and keratin 14. However, only 4 factor iPS-KCPs up-regulated KC differentiation markers in high calcium (1.2 mM) conditions.

When co-cultured with human dermal papilla (DP) cells, iPS-KCP lines differentially increased HFKC markers, including keratin 75, LEF1, MSX2 and TRPS1. Interestingly, 4 factor iPS-KCPs up-regulated keratin 75 and MSX2 more significantly than adult human KCs (P<0.05). In addition, DP cells exclusively responded to signals from 4 factor iPS-KCPs, leading to a reciprocal increase in DP biomarkers ALP, LEF1 and BMP4. Importantly, co-transplantation of the 4 factor iPS-KCPs, but not adult human adult KCs, with trichogenic mice dermal cells subcutaneously into nude mice resulted in follicular cyst formation containing complete HF structures expressing human specific bulge markers, such as keratin 15, CD200 and type 2 iodothyronine deiodinase.

This is the first demonstration that human iPS-KCPs can replicate epithelial-mesenchymal interactions in HF morphogeneis and contribute to HF formation in vivo. The data also highlights the importance of pre-assessing the functional aspects of individual iPS lines to maximize tissue regeneration efficiency.
