It seems as though with both products the equol is extracted from soy.
Can't really see the difference.
Any topical treatment to look forward to in the future?

that product you showed is just regular soy...
yes, if you're an equol producer, your body will produce equol naturally from that soy but the problem is that most people aren't equol producers and even if they are, there is no way of knowing how much equol are you capable of producing and how much soy you need to consume.... it's just too complicated that way. We need to consume Equol directly

And that is the difference between the 2 suppliments?not all people can produce equol from soy....

even if you are one of those lucky 30% who can(how would you know?), the amount would probably be very low and it will range overtime thus you would need to consume A LOT of soy to produce reasonable amounts of equol. It's too complicated, it's much better to just take equol DIRECTLY.Leave a comment:

It says on their web site:
What is the recommended dosage level?
Eclipse recommends a dose of 4 capsules per day (two every 12 hours), equating to 10mg of the active ingredient. S-equol has been verified as safe at much higher dosage levels (hundreds of milligrams).
Obviously if it doesnt work, I would just stop taking it.
Could buy 2 bottles worth.
But again, the active ingredients you can pick up in a suppliment store.Leave a comment:

not sure... SHBG just goes around picking up those sex hormones and neutralizing them.
Low SHBG has been linked with MPB but that's not really the cause of it... I'm guessing if you had low SHBG, more of DHT would be bioavailable thus speeding up all androgen related functions.
what supplement are you talking about?Leave a comment:

yeah how much do you have? They're selling 100 2.5mg pills for $30 which if you were to make it one month's supply, that would give you three pills daily which is merely 7.5mg... not nearly enough in my opinion. You would probably want to take much much more than thatLeave a comment:

Oh right that makes sense.it's poorly worded. It says that even though you produce a lot of sex hormones, only a small fraction is biologically active because they're mostly bound up with SHBG and Albumin....
Whatever little is left over is what's causing your MPB but equol will take care of it by binding to it and deactivating it.
So it's the DHT that is not being used for anything, which is takes care off.
The thing is - isn't all DHT when it is created, intially 'free DHT' - when and how does it differentiate this?
And why do I need to buy this product, when I can just get a suppliment from a vitamin store?Leave a comment:

I have cash to burn, I would try this product out. It's hard to find legitimate sources for it. I found a good one:
but it's way too expensive...
But I am not convinced by the science behind it, see above.Leave a comment:

I'm aware of them but their website looks very shady.... I wouldn't be sure if I was buying a legit product or not.Leave a comment:

I don't get it.okay but you do realize that your body contains its own androgen binding proteins such as SHBG which inhibit the function of sex hormones like DHT?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_hor...f_sex_hormones (read: The SHBG inhibits the function of these hormones.)
Raising your own SHBG levels would help a lot but it is very hard so you might as well use equol which does something similar.
"Disabling" existing DHT which was already converted from T would have no side effects.
Equol is nothing like finasteride.
But it says it binds onto free DHT disabling it after it has been created.
As maradona said, this is exactly what fin does only it just prevents the DHT from being created in the first place.Leave a comment:

The other problems is, like fin this is essentially binding onto free DHT - how do we know that will not be used in other parts of the body?
Thus, you are depriving your body of DHT.Leave a comment:

So why aren't you using it, and are there any success stories with this product?well the goal right now is to maintain as much hair as you can before Histogen and those other treatments arrive...
I'm suggesting equol because it won't wear off after 5 years and it has no side effects so anyone can take it.
Equol is PROVEN TO WORK it's just that big pharma is not interested in making it so you're stuck with a few small companies who are charging a lot for it...
This shit reminds me of when some guy released "density" which was equol based.Leave a comment:
