yes, if you're an equol producer, your body will produce equol naturally from that soy but the problem is that most people aren't equol producers and even if they are, there is no way of knowing how much equol are you capable of producing and how much soy you need to consume.... it's just too complicated that way. We need to consume Equol directly
It seems as though with both products the equol is extracted from soy.

    Can't really see the difference.

even if you are one of those lucky 30% who can(how would you know?), the amount would probably be very low and it will range overtime thus you would need to consume A LOT of soy to produce reasonable amounts of equol. It's too complicated, it's much better to just take equol DIRECTLY.

It says on their web site:

What is the recommended dosage level?
Eclipse recommends a dose of 4 capsules per day (two every 12 hours), equating to 10mg of the active ingredient. S-equol has been verified as safe at much higher dosage levels (hundreds of milligrams).

Obviously if it doesnt work, I would just stop taking it.

    Could buy 2 bottles worth.

But again, the active ingredients you can pick up in a suppliment store.

not sure... SHBG just goes around picking up those sex hormones and neutralizing them.
Low SHBG has been linked with MPB but that's not really the cause of it... I'm guessing if you had low SHBG, more of DHT would be bioavailable thus speeding up all androgen related functions.

As maradona said, this is exactly what fin does only it just prevents the DHT from being created in the first place.

I'm aware of them but their website looks very shady.... I wouldn't be sure if I was buying a legit product or not.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_hor...f_sex_hormones (read: The SHBG inhibits the function of these hormones.)

Raising your own SHBG levels would help a lot but it is very hard so you might as well use equol which does something similar.

"Disabling" existing DHT which was already converted from T would have no side effects.

    Equol is nothing like finasteride.

The other problems is, like fin this is essentially binding onto free DHT - how do we know that will not be used in other parts of the body?

Thus, you are depriving your body of DHT.

Equol is PROVEN TO WORK it's just that big pharma is not interested in making it so you're stuck with a few small companies who are charging a lot for it...
