Guys, I do live next door but will need to confirm with work as those days might be difficult to clear for vacations.

I do however believe we will benefit more from bringing someone with a deeper scientific knowledge that can conduct interviews with the researchers as Desmond did last year.

I'm willing to contribute with expenses and if I'm able to take vacations with logistics as well.

As for the member I think Hellouser is our best option, he will for sure ask the right questions and if most of us agree, I think he should set up a PayPal account so we can start chipping in and make this a reality

garethbale, I just read elsewhere that Follica (Cots) has put Desmond's videos on the Follica website. This means that despite Cots being a little problematic for Desmond at the time Desmond interviewed Cots last year at the last congress Cots did ultimately end up feeling some respect towards Desmond. And I think that this also means that Cots would almost certainly remember Desmond (as the guy who's videos Cots himself ended up using.) We should definitely send Desmond with Hellouser.

Keep in mind that I helped setup the interviews with Lausters team and Cots as I got in touch with them before Desmond made it to the congress last year. I was also in talk with Dr. Angela Christiano.... she even asked if having a facebook fan page about news of her work would be beneficial.

Honestly I can't see how we fund them without 100 people donating. By now, there were only ~30 people who are interested in chipping in. Its not enough. So we have two options:
          1. Making efforts to bring more people here (maybe from other forums, or by publishing this thread elsewhere)
          2. Funding only part of the deal, and the other part would be on the travelers themselves.

Of course option 1 is better, but clearly we don't have enough people to get to the sums "nameless" talked about.

            It's sad.

And now Hellouser has just pointed out that some of the key people involved with SM04554 will be presenting.

And we've got Cots using Desmond's videos so this shows that Cots is maybe feeling some belated respect for Desmond so it would be really nifty if
we could get Desmond to the Congress.

And Shishiedo will be there and they are working with iPS cells and they say they will have a cure to market by 2018.

We really need to go to the congress folks.

Didn't vote, but if I can figure out PayPal I am willing to donate. I haven't used it in about ten years.

I didn't know all of that but I did know you were working behind the scenes to arrange interviews and other matters for Desmond. I definitely want you there and I'm willing to put up a little cash to help you get there.

And Desmond made a lot of inroads with researchers too...especially Atac and Cots. He thinks he didn't get very far with Cots but now that I know Cots
used Desmond's videos after the congress was over I take that to mean that Cots found some respect for Desmond after the later after the even was over. And
Follica is in the news again. And Atac is emailing him. I would like you both to be there and it will only cost an additional $1,200 or thereabouts to get Desmond there because the room costs the same amount for 2 people as it does for 1 person. I think it's worth the extra money to fund getting both of you there.

By the way, the intercontinental hotel is purportedly a 5-star hotel and that's where the event is and that's where I think you guys should stay. I already booked a room at the discount price. It's discounted specifically for the hair congress event but at the time I booked the room there were only 5 rooms left so I decided it needed to be locked up to protect that price.

Why the *F* are tickets over 1500$?

I'll put up 150$...Is there an indiegogo / gofundme up for this?

Did you vote? I ask because I'm trying to find out if there are people who would donate but they can't vote or don't vote.

Your $150 will be a big help brother.

I would totally be willing to donate at least $100 to send either Desmond or Hellouser to attend. I'd love it if Desmond could attend; he's virtually the only reason I come on here anymore (it surely is not to listen to archaic hair transplants being analyzed to death). Desmond's knowledge, intelligence, and dedication make him an ideal choice to attend (not to mention make him such a valuable asset to the hair loss community). Although he did attend last year and I certainly do not seek to put too much pressure on him. But if he was able to attend, I would donate tomorrow.

I am cool with Hellouser attending as well. He has unwavering dedication towards uncovering a cure (or at least a better treatment than the sh*t we have today) has been unparalleled and I am confident that he would be similarly dedicated at the conference.

Lastly, I think several of the posters here live in the Miami area so maybe they could house Desmond or Hellouser for a few nights. This may seen awkward though and I understand if Desmond or Hellouser would not be cool with it, but I just wanted to throw the thought out there.

                        I have just voted.

Yes, i will be willing to donate without a problem.

However, somebody needs to budget this out, and start an official crowdfunding campaign and then it'll be alot easier to get things rolling i believe.

                        Any takers?

You know the idea of Hellouser and Desmond staying at one of the TBT poster's homes for those few days is an attractive idea except for 2 things:

                          1. They'll be lugging video equipment and other stuff around, and this will make it harder for them to get around, especially if they're having to travel to the hotel from a poster's house that is 10 miles from the Congress. The traveling and lugging things would make them harried.

                          2. If they're a distance away at a poster's house traveling back and forth from that house to the congress daily will eat into their time and they could miss important things.

It gets down to this: if we put them in the actual hotel where the event is at then that will be better for the following reasons.

                          a) They'll have plenty of time to get rest so they'll be rested when they're at the actual congress,

                          b) It will take pressure of them from having to get to and from the congress daily.

                          c) If they're staying at the hotel that will make it easier for them to keep interview appointments and to be at the presentations on time.

The price for the hotel is good. Just because it's a classy hotel does not mean it was expensive. We locked in their group discount rate as part of the hair loss congress.

The latest research about the effect of low level lasers will be discussed at the congress by R. Rox Anderson MD, who is a Harvard professor of dermatology.

Note that Sarah Millar is doing some presentations who is one of the key people at Samumed. Will be interesting to see what she'll be presenting.
