it's probably not necessary to harvest the same follicle multiple times. if at least one single regeneration of each hair (or only every second hair) it would be huge already.
i too think that if a hair regenerates itself, it's kind of weaker then and could potentially be destroyed the next time you split the follicle again. i think it will be interesting to identify a regenerated hair follicle, extract it completely and check it under the microscope (maybe 2 years post-op or so). if the hair bulb has the same size like a normal untouched follicle, then this would show us that even multiple regenerations could be possible.
