Not necessarily. We do know that the Aderans treatment DID work to some extent.
But we're not taking into account that they got about a decade's worth of funding without speedy progress, perhaps they're pulling out for other reasons?
Everyone one of us has complained that Aderans is taking too long... just think how pissed the board members must have been; 'We want results and we want a profit NOW, not 10 years and counting of bullshitting around!'Comment

There have been other treatments abandoned by Big Pharma during trial phases, despite being proven to work (*OBLIGATORY MENTION OF RU 58841 IN BTT THREAD*).Comment

I think it would make more sense for each member here to donate lets say $500.00 each so each member could get a transplant, it would be kind of a pyramid set-up, but it would work.
Hold the monies in an escrow account and ask Spenser (or other trustworthy individual) if he would dole the money to each participants doctor(s) as each received the transplant they need.
At least we could be assured of positive results for everyone with enough donor hair to make it happen.Comment

The problem is that many people on here simply do not want a hair transplant due to the procedure's limitations and drawbacks. That's why I believe that Desmond specified that this proposed goal treatment would be cellular and non- or minimally-invasive.I think it would make more sense for each member here to donate lets say $500.00 each so each member could get a transplant, it would be kind of a pyramid set-up, but it would work.

Oh I understand, I just don't see something like this coming to fruition. As we know it takes millions of dollars with no guarantee. And like others said, I don't think I would trust any company who is short on money trying to make it happen.
Additionally, I do respect all of Desmonds posts very highly, therefore I don't think his idea is out of line, it just probably would never work in my opinion.Comment

This forum alone has around 28,000 members today. This does NOT include all the other forums either, but I could see the number of total people on forums that have signed up at some point in the last 5-10 years surpass 50,000 easily.
The problem is this:
Lets say we have an audience of 50,000. How many of those members are active? Of those active members, how many of them would be willing to make a donation? Of those donations, how many of them would be willing to make a donation of $500?
Let's be generous and say 5,000 people would make a donation. And lets say its about $100.00.
This gives you only $500,000. Thats still not enough for Aderans to go on with their research. Depending on the size of their team, that wouldn't even cover a years worth of salary for everyone (assume average yearly salary is 50k, that only gives you 10 people in their team to pay out). You can be sure its more than 10 people working at Aderans and you can sure as hell assume they make more than 50k/year.
I hate to sound like a debbie downer, but this initiative is small potatoes... really small.
Only way where it'd even be possible is if we got all the admins from all forums across the globe and be adamant about nearly EVERY member pitching in some cash.
But even then that poses a problem, as I remember reading about Microtransponder, a tinnitus treatment company, where they couldnt not receive funding from the public but only from larger entities... or individuals who've had an income of $250,000 in the last year... or something like that. You can BET on it that there are regulations on the funding for such a project.
So again, and still nobody has addressed this damn question i've raised:
Aderans completed Phase II testing. Asia doesn't require Phase III. Why not release in Asia NOW? Why are we so hellbent on the idea that a treatment must be done in USA? There is a world beyond your borders.Comment

Aderans is a company, the goal of every company is to make money. They're not in this game because of charity, they want cash, and I bet they are willing to do everything in order to get it. They know what you know, they probably know much more than you know. If they don't release their product where they know they can, it's probably because they still don't have product enough to sell.So again, and still nobody has addressed this damn question i've raised:

No , to many people and companies take advantage of desperate people. I feel it will lead to the same crap that the existing companies slready dish out such as " we have the cure its coming" . The only thing that will be coming is more bullshit !!!Comment
