We all wish there was an actual cure available or soon to be available but the worst thing you can do is just keep hoping rather than acting. Trust me, I've been there. You need to do what you can and then just try and relax. Stabilize and wait.
    There are three good reasons:

    1. Until you are really bald, it can always get worse. You still have plenty of hair as evidenced by your photo. Better yet, you are diffuse rather than actually having bald patches. It's easy to get down on your hair and think "it's crap" but believe me it will just get crappier with time.

    2. Your confidence will actually improve if you simply manage to stabilize your hair. When I was losing hair it was stressful for two reasons. Obviously my hair looked bad, but there was the additional stress of continuously noticing that it was getting worse. Now that my loss appears to have stabilized I just have crap hair! It becomes easier to deal with this fact by itself when it's not accompanied by the stress of realizing that you have less hair than you did a year ago.

    3. It's unlikely that you will benefit much from newly emerging technologies if you let your hair go. Unfortunately there is no true cure on the horizon. It's unlikely we are going to see something that just turns Larry David into Diego Maradona any time soon. What is going to happen in the near future is that we are going to see incremental progress in terms of reviving miniaturized hair. You mentioned Histogen... Assuming things pan out I suspect it will be far more useful if you actually still have plenty of hair rather than actually being bald. Therefore it's imperative that you still have hair if you hope to take advantage of Histogen, Replicel or any of the other mid-term potential solutions. Even if you don't like how your hair looks you should be holding on to it so that you will actually have a chance to benefit from these emerging solutions.
These are some solid points . I think K01 is right and I want to take his advice and start using fin. The only thing that fears me is that if I use fin, the erection problems will be permanent. Some sources in holland warned men for using fin and in italy and sweden, the subscription warns for permanent erection problems.

But pure on the info you have: when do you think Dr C will be finished?
( maybe a stupid question to ask)

But dont you think cotsarelis will find the solution in 2 years? and what are your thought on dr nigam?

It's always possible that there will be a radical breakthrough in the near future. The problem is that clinging to hope is no way to go about things. Again, I speak from experience. I remember being young and thinking "yeah, yeah I don't need to worry, I just read an article that says balding will be cured in 5 years."
There's nothing wrong with hoping for the future but you still need to act in the present.
People make that mistake with their health all the time. "I don't need to take care of my teeth, I read they are going to just regrow new teeth with stem cells in 5 years."

Yes! That is a critical point. It appears most of these medications are better at revitalising thinning follicles rather than flat out curing hair loss.

Keep your follicles alive even if you need to keep them on life support.

I think Cotsarelis has good science backing his approach. But he needs to prove that he can generate cosmetically significant hair. Nobody can guess when that will happen.

As for ED, it is simply a risk you need to take IMO. Chances are it won't happen, but what else are you going to do?

True that. I dont know men I think it will be over for me: i will shave my head and start exercising and tanning in the hopes i will look a bit like Statham.

He is one good looking baldie (no homo)

I wouldn't touch fin with a 10 yard pole. You said you're 22, if you're balding at a rapid speed at that age, I'm sorry but then it's just a lost cause in my opinion. My advice: shave it off and try to improve your looks via other methods. Hit the gym 3-4x/week, get in shape and maybe do some facial plastic surgery if you think you can improve your looks that way. Check www.realself.com for idea's. You said you feared approaching the ladies. If you have a good body & face, most ladies won't care if you're bald. I know a gym teacher here, he's bald like a billiard ball but bangs more women in week then others in a year So forget about your hair and find other ways to improve yourself.

I don't think it's a lost cause IF he were to get on meds. I am not advocating going on them but if he did he should retain hair for longer and maybe grow hair. Add concealer to that and he may look ok.

I certainly wouldn't advise getting facial surgery at 22. But hitting the gym and getting fit is a good idea

So if your face is good looking and expresses the features that women generally think are hot (straight nose, straight white teeth, strong chin+jawline, symmetrical contours) and your body is in shape, then why fear approaching women ?

I have no idea mate. You sound like you're looking for reassurance and unfortunately I cannot give it to you.

New treatments could take a while which is why it is important to hold on to what we have, in my opinion. Try not to stress about it, it will come when it's ready

Well I can give him the reassurance that Dr C's technique won't be available within 5 years. On the clinicaltrial's site there's not even any data on a Phase I trial yet. So even if they HAD it working (just like Jahoda succeeded at bio-engineering and growing a follicle on human skin), it will take 6-8 years before it's on the market.

This is the absolute stupidest advice one could give. Arashi is an absolute dumbf**k of epic proportions. And whoever listens is an even bigger idiot. Please just stop posting and go suffer by yourself. Don't bother us.

The worst claim is that he's a "lost cause". There are effective medications available, but instead of them you choose to listen to an idiot on a hair loss forum then you DESERVE to go bald.
