After spending 5 months on the future treatment section I have to admit that OP is right. Not much (good) had happened in that 6 months...Comment

I've been looking through these 'future treatment' forums for the last few days.
HSC, PRP, replicel, HST all seem like a huge downer.
Most of them seem like something that'll be way way off in the future, years from now and the one's like gho, who're apparently doing stuff just now, just aren't producing results at all.
I've not seen evidence from any of the newer treatments that they provide cosmetically significant results, nor have I seen evidence the treatments still in trials are going to.
Replicel for example apparently produced a 6.1% increase in velus hair growth over a period of a few months, that's bloody pathetic.
All you guys holding out for some magic bullet, I'm sorry to tell you, but it's not coming any time in this decade and it's certainly not coming from any of these treatments.
A good HT and medical regimen is your ONLY option for the foreseeable future.
EDIT- if anyone can show me any pictures or clinical data that proves me wrong, then I absolutely welcome it!

Yeah I agree your a decade or maybe 2 away before stem cells are growing large amounts of hair to be transplanted back to basically cure MPB. That will happen someday along with growing teeth and other organs. I just agree its a very long ways off so if your at some advanced NW I think its a long wait.Comment

When you take into account how fast hair falls out once it starts, there's really no point even caring. Guaranteed our sons don't have to deal with this, i have no doubt that in the next ten years they will find a solution, and then add another 10-5 for trials. I'm done giving a crap, gonna see if topical fin doesn't give me awful sides, and if it does, well time to call it a day and move on with a receding head of hair, cause nothing is coming soon enough to make any difference. Maybe in 20 yrs when the stem cell cures are out I'll still care enough to check it out.
It's funny cause they might actually have a cure right now- like harder said it just takes someone to crack the puzzle, but when you think about it it doesn't matter. 15 years of trials, even 10, is long enough to make any new treatment useless for someone already balding.Comment

It doesn't matter- even if they discovered a miracle cure next year, they would still have to go through 15 years of clinical trials. too long for me and for most of us. thinking about this topic is pointless, you'll be thinking about it for the next 15 yrs of your life. also cichlidfort, aren't you the dude thats like 6'7, who cares if you go bald dude, no one can even see the top of your head, and you might even look better bald than with hair, tall guys pull it off great and you're a good looking dude. If i were you I wouldn't be spending a second thinking about this issue. chicks are gonna dig you no matter what. None of us should be on these forums, and least of all you man.Comment

As someone previously mentioned, I believe there will be an effective treatment for maintenance sooner rather than later. I'm less optimistic about a 'cure' because there is simply no potential for revenue growth in a one off treatment but its a different story for treatment that requires continued use. Just look at Rogaine and Finasteride. They are minimally effective but we have to keep spending to maintain what we have - we are hooked for lifeComment

That is the weakness of the boy known as Hellouser.
Your weakness is not that you don't want to be disfigured. Your weakness is not that you want a treatment asap.
Rather, your weakness is that you whine about treatments undergoing what you say is too much scientific scrutiny and about FDA processes that you say take too long. And yet here there is a potential breakthrough treatment (AAPE) that has completed some early testing, is based on sound science, and has a pretty good safety profile and yet you are rejecting it because it hasn't undergone enough testing and there isn't enough certainty involved with it. And like I already said, you are the same guy who whines because scientists are doing too much studying and the FDA is too time consuming.
Basically, you complain when it moves slow and you complain when an opportunity presents itself quickly. You're like a PMS woman who can't make up her mind. This is your true weakness that makes you more a boy than a man.Comment

But OK since you think there's no hope then forget about your hair loss and go on about your life. There's no point in you coming here because according to you there
won't be big news for a long, long time. So what do you come here for - to cry?Comment
