I am content at the moment, but I want to have a choice. If a cure does come out, then society would not look down on baldness as it does now. Looks is not the problem for me, as I look good even bald, its just the contempt part that bugs me.

Lol who gives a flying **** about other people if you actually look good bald?! I look horrific with short hair, like going from an 8-9 to a 5-6 tops. That's the only reason I care one bit. If I looked half decent bald I'd be ecstatic with absolutely zero worries aesthetically.

Yeah maybe I don't look awful but I damn sure look worse haha. When I was a first year law student I buzzed my hair and no girls talked to me whatsoever, like absolutely nothing. Then I grew it back out and all these girls were like "why haven't I seen you around??" Suddenly I was in the top 5% of dudes at the school (not that big of a deal, lawyers aren't the most attractive folks...). But it was amazing the difference. That's probably the single reason I'm obsessing about my hair. Totally have the Jude Law (pun) condition. Guy looked incredible with a full head of hair, not even close to the same now...

The options which are (supposed) to help in the next few years, well, its a shame really.

Just think if every member of this Forum donated say fifty bucks per month to a pool-escrow fund held by Spencer, that would be enough money for every member to receive a good transplant from a top surgeon in a short amount of time (I would think).

Anyone ever think about something like this???

I buzzed my hair and went through my phone book to go on dates with girlfriends I had known in the past when I wasn't buzzed. I wanted to see their reactions. I have gone out with four so far, the last one tonight.

All of them did not seem to care or say a word about my hair. I think I looked better before, and I think that's what all four girls thought to themselves probably, because I think this is objectively true in the sense that if you compare the before and after pictures it's pretty obvious what anyone would say. However, I repeat that in the dating game it did not matter at all. All dates went great.

So yeah, if you go in a club and behave the exact same way as before you might get less looks, but that's pretty much about it. You can adjust this with better attitude than before, better approach skills, and you'll easily be fine. I went out on Saturday to a club and approached some girl at the bar, we talked for a while. I was kind of drunk and had no idea what my hair looked like, which I think really helps. Because if you don't accept yourself the way you are, you will do a much worse job with girls and they will sense the lack of confindence.

I agree, and remember, there is the you in private and the you in public. The you in public always needs to exude confidence, regardless of hair or anything else. The you in private can be pissed about hairloss.

Honestly though if you have to shave your head, it's pretty much a given that you better have a decent face and a good body to be considered good looking, regardless of how confident you are. You can still be attractive without being good looking, does that make sense? But hopefully I can be both. I'm definitely gonna hit the gym hardcore and try to be as tan as safely possible if I go the buzz route.

Bam, hit the nail on the head. Its so frustrating to have friends tell you youre too negative when the fact is you only vent and rant about it in private. You don't piss and moan about it to the whole world, I never understand this concept. Any new acquaintances or people I don't know too well, I never show whats underneath my skin.

The thing is there just isnt much real research being done. Its expensive, time consuming, and hard with no pay off a lot of times. A tiny fraction of all the medical community does any real research and a lot of it is something like teen pregnancies went up or a percent of kids in college drink.
If there was more real research I think there would be more results but its not going to happen. CB 03 01 has potential to stop MPB cold for decades and keep hair safely and topically which is what we need the problem is do we have 3 years to wait? The FDA stuff takes forever to do I mean does it really need to take 4 years to get through that?

Complications from substances, injections, topicals, pills, etc. don't happen overnight and not everyone is immune to side effects, so... risk free, yeah, years is a good estimate.

Within the next 3 years we will definitely have NEW treatments available. But what's almost certainly on everyone's mind is how effective they are gonna be?

That's where Phase 2 trials come in which prove extent of efficacy! So our questions will most definitely be answered by June this year!

Here's a list of expected Phase 2 completion dates for the BIG three in case you're not following them:

                          - Histogen: Dec 2012 (Note. There's one more Phase 2 trial to be carried out after this. However, data from the current trial should give us a clear idea of what to expect)

                          - Aderans: April 2013

                          - Replicel: Dec 2013

If and that's an if Aderans shows +65% increase in hair density as shown in their early trials & Histogen shows +30% increase in hair count beyond the 12 month time point then we will be most definitely the luckiest generation to date!

And if they don't, then we just have to live our life till Tsuji / Lauster come to our rescue

I remember one of the forum members posting back in october when Histogen results got released (I think it was Kiwi) and his headline was:

"I've been fighting hairloss for 10 years now and this is the first time someone has grown statistically significant amount of hair"

That definitely was one of the best days of my life...

To June 2013 everyone. Let's hope we get some AMAZING news

Well, will they only regrow hair on people who have just started balding or also those who have been bald for lets say 20 years!

I wish I knew the answer Baldozer! We really have to be patient and wait till June. Both Histogen and Aderans have made some bold claims such as follicullar neogenesis (i.e. formation of brand new follicles) in the past few years.

Now, lets see if they can prove it

Waiting sucks brother, believe me I'm dying to find out as well.

What matters is follicular neogenesis was achieved by Tsuji Labs in 2012! So even if Aderans fails, we could be more than certain that hair multiplication is not far off (hopefully by 2020)

I hope we get something sooner than 2020, because by 2020 I would be more worried about the jowls and smile lines appearing on my face, than hair, LOL!
