I am a week short of 180 days in and seems like my major shed has finally stopped. Hair loss has slowed down a lot and seeing vellus hair along the hairline. Also had my DHT levels checked about a month ago and with a reference range of 16-79 my reading was <5ng/dl.
Below is from the Bernstein Medical – Center for Hair Restoration:
"As with Finasteride, patients taking Dutasteride should be on the medication for one year or longer before its effects in preventing hair loss and re-growing hair can be accurately assessed. Dutasteride most likely takes up to one year or more to exert its full effects in both preventing hair loss and in re-growing hair.
During the first six months on Dutasteride, one may note some thinning of one’s existing hair. This may be due to either progression of your hair loss before Dutasteride has had a chance to work, or some shedding of miniaturized hair that makes way for the new healthy hair to grow. It is important to be patient during this period. You should continue the medication for at least one year before you and your doctor can assess its benefits."Comment

3 months for me, but it takes 12 months or more + you should also use Rogaine. Dermarolling won't hurt either.Comment

How long have you been on it? Dut that is.
What are the pills called? Where did you get them?
And have you had your Dht levels checked.
So many variables here, man.Comment

Could be the brand of minox you are using? Grnx I use had the same effect.
And as PW said, wait at least 12 months before seriously looking for regrowth. Saying that, I still check in the mirror everyday. Lol.Comment
