How was your first day back at work jairus? Did anyone notice you looked different?

Absolutely no comments so far. Altho the scabbing is pretty bad now and quite yellowish so I anticipate some comments next week. I have my story if needs be so Im not fussed in the slightest.

To be honest mate, being concerned about fellow employees comments is the last thing on my mind. I couldn't care less and you will be surprised how few people comment on it.

Yeah Im not doing any good worrying so I will just wait and see - I noticed a diff today as the left side has shed somewhat and the two sides now are exhibiting the stubble feel so maybe the hairs fell out quicker on the right temple.

Roll on month 3 and hopefully no issues.

Im sure its all fine. Try not over scrutinise certain areas. I know its tough.
Try leave the new HT well alone too. Limit fingering /touching the area as will only aggravate it not aid it.

Em....no?! The camera phone quality is awful as you can see in the previous pics.

I can feel the hairs when I run my fingers over the recipient area, however there is a patch on the right temple where the hairs are BARELY poking through the scabs...like very fine stubble and very hard to locate.

Is this ok? The scabs are starting to fall off so perhaps they will become more prominent in a few days.

Human nature to be a little anxious mate now your in the post op healing stage. All normal. I've had 10 sessions, trust me -happened every time.

No, rarely will you get shock in areas not worked on.

I think what could well be the case here and im only working off pics - after looking over your pics closer is that the areas in question were possibly thinner pre op than you realised and since the very short hair cut these areas are now amplified and highlighted possibly. Could it be the lighting conditions ? Just a thought.
Are you taken preventative treatment to help fight against DHT ?

I reckon you are right, as I have not had a shaved head in a while. If you look at the pre op pic of my back, its fairly dense so I guess the longer hair was disguising the thinning. I don't really want to go on Fin and have been on keratene pills for a month but I discussed them with Dr Feriduni and the lack of a clinical trial was a bit worrying. I guess I will have to try Fin again at a reduced dosage as I don't want to have a dense frontal third and a thin crown and back. I will prob give your gradual introduction routine a go - ie .25 once a week, .25 twice a week etc. I thought I would be ok until Histogen etc comes out but it looks as if that aint the case now. I am using minox and will be going to Regenepure next week but I haven't been addressing the DHT issue.

Hi J,

Try not worry. Its all normal what you are experiencing and its not uncommon to get a little anxious with it all. Keep rested and hydrated.

The itching is 100% normal - a good sign of healing and blood flowing to the area. The scabs are clotted blood, you will have clotted in areas more than others. The FU is under the scalp and safe so try not worry too much as above the surface is pretty much superficial.

Aloe vera gel can help sooth the itch, pop it in the fridge over night.

Shockloss is attributed to trauma and lets face it - your scalp has been subjected to a fair amount. It will all come back in over time 3-4 months for the shock on average. Growth of the new HT hair can take a minimum of 3-4 months too but you will really start seeing the fruit of your labour in 6-8 months and bare in mind it takes 12-18 months for the full grown out matured effect.

Many thanks for the info. I have researched the post op concerns before going for the HT as I didn't want to be doing what I am doing now! - posting concerns I guess its different when it happens to you personally. I fully expected shock loss however I didn't expect it to be in my crown or the back of my head - is the area just above the extractions a normal place to see the shock? It was a little disconcerting seeing the back of my head this morning I am back on the keratene pills and minox so I will just get the head down and be vigilant.

Yeah, on both points I would say to wait and see. I noticed loss in my mid section after the op that wasn't there before. It's either shock loss or a phase of the natural hair cycle.

Yep I have been using the neck pillow. The recipient area was itchy as hell and I may have rubbed it during my sleep. There seems to be black blob areas with little or no hair in them, so I don't know. Guess I will have to wait it out. Be a shame tho if 95% of the transplanted grafts are good to go and this area in question is bald. Anyway I will have to see where I stand after 3/4 months.

Chris/Drybone, did you guys see certain parts shedding/scabbing quicker than others? My left temple is a fair bit browner than the right and when I run my finger over the stubble it seems more smoother than the left. Im wondering if I was rubbing that part in my sleep.

I didn't notice this, no. Were you sleeping with the neck pillow? I didn't allow my temples to have any contact with my pillow for the first 10 days or so.
