Hi smokemeakipper (why do I think of your name to the song 'cry me a river'?)
At the 2 month point it's still a little bit pink, but to be honest I've stopped using aloe vera over the past few weeks. If you applied that every day, you might be in a much better position. You could probably shave it down, and foundation might help if you're desperate, although you will need to be very careful not to make it look worse!
I used the minox on the front and had some success making my hairline more full. I started using it on the crown at my doctor's advice. I'd recommend giving it a go!
Hey Chris
Mine is now over 5 months and is still a little pink even though at this point its only myself who can tell because i know its there.

Cheers Chrisis, I think I'd be safer taking 3 months off then in that case. I'll be interested to hear how you are in another two weeks.
I'll give the regaine a go then, was just worried about the shock loss stories you hear before it starts working.
With what you said about your Dr recommending you started using it on your crown. You see I like to think that if I got a Ht then that would be it done and sorted, and i wouldnt need to worry about it anymore. But it maybe isn't that simple, is that normally the case from what you've found out in your research? That its still an ongoing process for your existing hair? Obviously everyone's different so suppose you never know if your hairs stablised after the Ht or whether its going to continue to thin behind the new hairs.
Then iether require another Ht in 5 or 10 years time when the rest if your hair thins. But i suppose I'd be happy getting at least another 5 or 10 years out of the Ht and delaying the shaving off point to well your older and settled.

Out of interest the 2 month point would be when I would go back to work if I went for a HT. So do you think you could realistically go out in the open or are you still quite red? If you shaved your hair right down again could you get away with it?

Also chrisis have you been using the regaine in the front regional of your head or just back? Does it work on the front for you. I've heard mixed reviews?

Looks really good. Bet your chuffed its all done and just waiting to grow. Out of interest the 2 month point would be when I would go back to work if I went for a HT. I work for the emergency services in a heavy male environment when the p**s taking and banter is high on a normal day, therefore if there was any indication I'd had a HT I would never live it down.
Does a little bit of make up foundation cover the redness?
I go out in a cap just because I feel more comfortable, but I don't think it's obvious now. I have been using toppik to add density to the front which really helps.
I've actually pulled twice in the last few weeks, so can't be too bad haha
Not normal to see hairs poppin thru at 2 months is it?
Either way its great
I'm not quite sure. I have been supplementing quite heavily and am a fast grower, so maybe that explains it?

Chris, just awesome, but just curious - don't you think that the 6 week pictures the growth seems more uniform and progressing well...but at 8 weeks, it seems like you lost a lot of that growth, and have small sprouts...
I don't believe the hair in the recipient area at 6 weeks was growth, it was only the transplanted units that hadn't fallen out. The side of my head I sleep on is a lot sparser than the other side so I think all of this is normal!

Chrisis, have you started regaine? How soon after your ht can you start using it in the receipt area? Have you had any side effects?
Really grateful for any info from you guys
Cheers
Hey, yeah I started back on the minoxidil after about a month. It's possibly safe sooner than that, but I've erred to caution on most things throughout this process. I've had no (known) side effects from minoxidil.

Im not big on bandana's and I defo want to keep the grafts as safe as possible.

Hi Jairus, I'm not sure the baseball cap is a good idea. It could be a little too heavy for the area.
I think I was just a little unlucky with my lost graft. I wondered if the reason the graft affixed itself was due to putting the bandana on too early after spaying finastil/vitamin E on the recipient area. Maybe something worth bearing in mind: allow the scalp time to dry before putting anything on it.
Yeah kipper take off 3 weeks and then sick leave and if it totals a month you should be fine. Or go back to work after 2 weeks but you will have to say you got sunburned quite badly.
