    Hi, regarding your question about the discovery of vellus hairs on your scalp: these could be hairs just re-entering the Anagen phase. As you might know, hairs grow in a cycle, and at some point each hair enters a resting (Telogen) phase. When they start to grow again, they can appear thinner. There's no way I can know exactly what the derm saw when he examined you, but unless your scalp has noticeably more hairs than would normally be entering the Anagen phase at one time, then I don't think that the presence of some thinner, shorter hairs is a sign of hairloss.
