I dont use Nanogen now as my crown is looking good, i sometimes apply a little dermmatch as there is a small bit of scalp showing as i`m very pale skinned and my hair is dark brown.
Nanogen does not itch and i would say its better than Toppik. Usage depends on the size of area you need to cover.
