Hi yesterdayoncemore -
I'm glad you found this forum too, it's important to connect with other women so you know you are not alone. The truth is I do still care, but I'm working on moving past. It's hard not to care about the thing I used to get more compliments on than anything else. My hair was so incredibly thick I would get it thinned out in the hair salon. Hair stylists would run from me, it would take an hour to dry my hair with a blow dryer and all day to air dry. Now I can dry it in 3 minutes flat. But reflecting on the past and what I *had* doesn't do me any good for today. It only holds me back and prevents me from actually living.
My advice is to ditch the hair catcher. It's torture. Pure torture. I no longer use one and I'm proud to announce I haven't counted the fallen hair from the comb in nearly a month now (maybe a little longer) Just that little change has made a huge difference. Also reminding myself that there *are* options really helps. I know a hair piece is in my future, I'm just not sure if it is 5 or 10 years from now. It won't be the end of the world. Life is so much more than hair and we have to constantly remind ourselves of that.
You are beautiful, believe it.
