    7-Months Post Op... "The Benchmark"

    7 Months Post-Op--"The Benchmark"

Well everyone--FINALLY made it to MONTH 7!

"The Benchmark..." One of them at least...

Month 7 is the month they have told us that we will generally start to see the BEGINNINGS of what we might expect the longer-term results to be...

I am happy to report that I AM seeing marked results! That is, what I would expect (hope!) would be the BEGINNINGS of the kind of true progress and results I'm hoping for long-term!

As you can see from the photos, the top and hairline have continued to grow in quite well, and, combing my hair forward in a caesar-type style at least, I am able to achieve fairly decent coverage overall. There are some areas that are thinner than others at the moment--particularly the upper-right temple area, and the outlines of the hairline--but I continue to trust that this is more a matter of slower growth in the area, than ultimate lack of coverage...

During the procedure itself when it was discovered that Paul and I had tighter-than-normal scalp-laxity, we had to make a call on more coverage with less density, or less coverage with more... We opted for a smaller coverage area with much thicker density, so I am hopeful we made the right call, and we will still see this come to pass in the months ahead...

Also, on the upside, while I have only really been able to wear my hair forward for day-to-day living, I have had several days where I have been able to mess with it, and see styling possibilities and options that I may be able to wear (which I haven't in many years!) if the hoped-for density continues to come in! I am more excited about these possibilities than I can say...C'mon, DENSITY!!

As has been the case with virtually the entire process, the more the results come, the slower they seem to come--likely much more due to excited impatience than a lack or slowing of the growth! But so far I seem to be "right on track" with all expected "projections" so I continue to look forward to ever-increasing coverage and density as it continues to come in!

The crown has not really progressed nearly as much as I had hoped with the Proscar, and I am wondering if perhaps I am taking too little, or cutting the tablets too small... However, I DO notice a marked improvement in the overall QUALITY of my hair, so that proves that something is working... I am also considering returning to my Rogaine regiment, which I figure can't hurt, and can only help...

As far as the donor area discomfort and sensitivity that recurred last month, it seems to have subsided a good deal again, though is still there from time to time...

Okay, folks! That's it for the "Benchmark" of Month 7--hopefully the progress continues for the next 5-months+ as Dr. H has assured us! Will see you in a month with another report!
