    6 months post-op

Well, here we are at the half-year mark—6 months post op. I’ve experienced a surprising (but only occasional) return of pain and tenderness at the “problem area” of my donor site (the left back side of the head). My twin (Gemini 2) has reported a similar experience, and suggested that after several months of numbness back there, perhaps the pain is just an indication that the nerve endings are regenerating. This seemed a logical conclusion to us, so we are not too worried on this point. As you can (kind of) see from the photos, the hair has continued to grow longer at and behind the hairline, creating the appearance of more coverage since last month. However, there is still a concerning lack of density, which allows one to see pretty easily through that thin hair to the scalp beneath. I keep receiving encouraging support-comments from fellow bloggers (thank you all!) telling me not to worry—that the current change is noticeable, and that I still have a LONG way to go until I see the final result. This support helps, but I must confess, each month that passes without that visible scalp disappearing worries me slightly more that the end result may not be what I had hoped. Still, I am placing my complete faith in the track record of Drs. Hasson and Wong, and the fantastic results they have produced for nearly every patient. So that’s what I am trying to be at this phase…PATIENT! See you next month!
