3/16/2010--6 Months Post Op!
Wow... The 6-Month Mark!!
There were days I never thought I'd even get THIS far...!
But so glad I'm "getting there"...
The buzzword for this month seems to be..."Slowly, but Surely...!"
As you can see from the pics, the growth continues at a steady (if slower than I'd like!) pace, and I'm finally able to comb the hair forward, caesar-like (appropriate for the Ides of March...!), and feel as if I essentially have virtually the same coverage on top I had prior to surgery, only slightly lower down on my hairline, which is fantastic... The hairs themselves remain finer, and some days--depending on whether it's a "good hair day" or "bad hair day" the density can seem to vary greatly, but overall, the hairs are definitely thickening and darkening day by day... Also, the outline of the "new" hairline continues to darken and fill in--again, slowly but surely, and I am very hopeful that this really is the beginning of REAL GROWTH AND PROGRESS... We often hear that you start to see what your real results might be starting around 7-months, I hope this is the START of that, and not somewhere near the middle or end of it--I'm cautiously optimistic, though, that I am more or less "Right On Track..."
As far as sensation--I checked in with Gemini 1, and we both seem to be experiencing similar occurrences of MORE feeling, tingling, and slightly more sensation and discomfort returning to the donor area, and parts of the transplant site... We are less worried about it after having checked-in and realized we were both experiencing it, and my theory is that with the areas healing, perhaps the nerves and activity and feeling are beginning to return to the area, bringing with them more sensation, not less... I'll have to check in with Dr. H and the clinic on this theory, but I'm hoping that it's something like this...
Overall, however, though each month I say the same thing ("I wish it were happening quicker!"
, I continue to be both excited and encouraged by the daily progress and results as they appear!
C'mon, Nature--Keep It Coming!!!
