Okay. I'm at my lowest morale point thus far, but even so, I'm still more optimistic about the future than I was before the surgery. I'm in the "Charlie Brown" or "Linus" phase--a big, round, bald head with just a few curly wisps protruding from the forehead. Attractive, right? Not only that, but I had my first date in about a year this week...nice timing. Still, I must say, I was floored by the response of my date, when I showed her my head, and explained that I'd had the procedure done. Instead of being repulsed, she very optimistically said something to the effect that at least I'd be growing MORE hair from now on, instead of LOSING more. This was a nice shot in the arm. As for the remainder of my head's physical status, I've regained almost full laxity and feeling in the back right side of the donor area. However, the back left donor area is still quite numb, tight, and frequently painful. Not only that, but there is still a distinct "ridge" that I can feel there where the scalp was stapled together. I'm growing a bit worried that this ridge will not go away, but I am trying to redouble my faith that it will, since everything else seems to be improving. The coming month should be a very telling one.
