10/16/09 -- One Month Post Op

10/16/09 -- One Month Post Op

Wow, I can hardly believe it's been an entire MONTH since the procedure!

6-7 times this very short time, and I hope to have a full head of hair!

As you can see, the expected (and dreaded) shock-loss has set in, and essentially shed all of the transplanted hairs, leaving only the wisps of the old-hairs growing back in--an unfortunate, but necessary effect and period we all must endure if we ever expect the newly transplanted hair to grow back.

Redness and swelling of the scalp have lessened considerably (I've used the Vitamin E oil every day--it seems to help!), pain has reduced quite a bit, and sleeping is now almost completely painless... Any residual pain resembles a very mild sunburn, which is really mostly only sensitive when touched.

There is still a good deal of tightness of the scalp, and although most of the "helmet head" has subsided, quite a bit of numbness and tightness remain... (I was advised this is very normal...).

Overall, I think things are progressing nicely, although I really cannot wait for month 7 and beyond...!

    Onwards and Upwards!
Working...
