9/25/09 - 9 Days Post-op

9 Days Post-op, and I think things are progressing pretty well...
The main three issues still tend to be 1) Tightness (the dreaded "helmet head" feeling) and 2) Itching--both still manageable with medication, and 3) Sleep--which has continued to be a challenge, but has gotten better in the past few days, as I've been able to switch to sleeping on my sides (where there are fewer staples), which has helped considerably...
Note that the scabbing and crusting is CONSIDERABLY better--I was originally hesitant to wash my scalp too aggressively, but then read the post-op literature which said not to make this mistake... Most of the crusting and scabbing has subsided, and it gets better every day... I am also using the Vitamin E oil suggested by the Clinic--awesome stuff, and soothing...
The staples really do LOOK a lot worse than they feel, but with Halloween coming up, I can't help but feel a little bit like Frankenstein's Monster...
I cannot WAIT to get them out--I bet I will have the best night's sleep I've had in WEEKS!!
