Hi I am 25 years old and have been losing my hair for the past 2.5 years. It started after my 2nd child was born. I had the mirena IUD for a year after I had the baby and then had it taken out because of the hair loss. It still did not stop. I've had normal lab work come back multiple times from multiple doctors and really getting desperate for answers. It is in the front and is getting very noticeable and iches. I would like to get pregnant again and have been trying now for 6 months and haven't been able to. I got pregnant very easy with my other children and I think this all might be related. Any answers or ideas would be great. Or if you know of any doctors in the Phoenix area that could help that would be great too. Thanks a lot!

Dana, Dr. Sharon Keene or Dr. Scott Alexander are your options in Arizona.

Dana, I also got the mirena IUD after my second child (2 years old) and have been experiencing more hair loss than usual. Is there a documented connection? I did not see any such info on the mirena website or on the AHLA website for that method of birth control in particular. If there is a connection, I will get it ripped out tomorrow! I also had some difficulty getting pregnant after my first and after much testing, discovered I had a polyp blocking my fallopian tube that was easy to remove. If you go to a fertility doctor (reproductive endocrinologist) they will determine why you are not getting pregnant. If it is hormonal, there may be a connection to your hair loss. Good luck!Comment
