Dear Dr. Redmond:
I live in the UK and have a 17 year old daughter with PCOS. She is taking Metformin since June this year and Spironolactone since October. She is losing more hair than she was before since she started treatment. She's getting treatment through the National Health System, but I recently joined a system that would allow me to consult with private doctors.
I have read two of your books and I think I know what tests to ask to better understand what is causing my daughter's hair loss. But as you probably know, you need the doctor's respect to be listened to, and here, it is hard to achieve that in the 10 minutes doctors have to see a patient. Reading the results from the lab tests are included in those ten minutes. No time for conversation or discussion. So, would you have any colleagues in the UK that I could see in a more humane framework to discuss what you suggest in your books?
