How to play mxf files?

Good evening. I seem to have broken my Mac laptop. Every time I load my videos from my camcorder, the screen shrinks and a playback error appears. But I don't understand why the player doesn't work. I want to open a normal video from a professional camera for further editing. I don't upload unchecked files, so I don't understand what's wrong with the playback. Have any of you experienced this situation?
