Consider applying to eight to twelve MSW programs, or as many as three, depending on your situation. The most important thing is to apply to schools that make sense given your background, not how many programs you apply to. To increase your chances of being accepted into an MSW program, you should apply to a variety of programs. Keep in mind that this is a highly competitive field, with some schools having a higher level of competition than others.
