working on FIFA compared to FM?

This might be a stupid question as I know absolutely nothing of game development but..

Why doesn't FM look anywhere near as good as games like FIFA? I know it's not the most important aspect of the game and I still enjoy it but it has me curious.

Is it due to the amount of people working on FIFA compared to FM? Budgets? Can't be spec can it as I'm sure people are always saying that pc's have higher specs than consoles?

Will FM ever have super realistic in-match graphics? Sure would add to the realism.

Well according to wikipedia EA Sports has 8000 employees working across seven current games. Using some very basic mathematics, that's over 1100 people per game. If only a third of those work in development, that's still over 350 people.

As Miles said in the recent Q&A (and some of you may have seen on the FM Documentary credits) SI has 99 employees. And we're not all coders.

Not trying to Fut 15 Coins Cheap make excuses, but I don't think there's quite as many people working on how the match looks at SI than there are at EA. But we make different games and both teams do the best they can!

Budget/team size and the fact that it's a management sim, which generally don't emphasize that aspect, it seems.

The goal post is constantly moving when it comes to "realism", and I imagine they will continue to lag behind.

It really depends on the company and the qualification of game developers. I can tell you that if you decide to work with a game art outsourcing studio, you'll get an actually high-quality product, but if you just gather together random people from the internet, the result won't be even close to that

I think it mostly comes down to priorities and resources. FM has to simulate an incredible amount of data, tactics, player behavior, and long-term career progression, so a lot of development effort goes into systems rather than visuals. Personally, I'd rather have deeper management mechanics than perfect graphics, although more realistic matches would definitely be nice. Looking at how football games keep evolving, I wouldn't be surprised if future versions make a big leap visually. By the way, anyone interested in the latest football title can check EA Sports FC 26 best price at https://xd.deals/game/ea-sports-fc-26 to compare offers before buying.

I agree—FM's depth and management systems are impressive, but more realistic match graphics would definitely make the experience even more immersive.

Do you think Football Manager should focus more development resources on improving graphics, level devil - not a troll game, or would you rather they continue prioritizing gameplay and database realism?
