Never mind Jholcollege11, I am just returning from a long time break from busy school and work, just having a short summer break and visiting here to see whats new. I didn't read all the post history from Jholcollege11 in other threads of this forum before I posted the above response. After reading all other posts, I don't think you need my help on hair loss, Jholcollege11.

I totally understand that it sounds like a crazy idea yet its really very successful even though its clearly an out of the box solution.

As long as a person does not expect to have long flowing locks of hair...this short cropped look is quite nice and in fact I believe I look even younger with this style than I did while I was using couvre and toppik to cover 4 fingers of complete baldness in the crown area and three fingers of very thin hair in the front...

I was very very good at using the couvre and toppik concealers and managed to apply them very quickly everyday....

I looked very intensely at the hair transplant route with three or four well respected and very nice hair transplant doctors in the tri state area....and they suggested two and possibly three hair transplant sessions to give me a look they thought appropriate...

I considered that path and then found this thread along the way....I was impressed with the look of the slothy as he tried the mascara pencil and then I took it a step further with HIS micro scalp pigmentation...

I'm very pleased and before I did the MHT...I said...hopefully one day cloning will become an option in the future...yet for me....after having this permanent look...with MHT..

I would personally not bother with the whole cloning experience...

I'm really that happy with the end result..

    Like I mentioned...I only know...that for me...this has been a win win....

Each of us need to consider and find our own paths...

I totally respect the guys who go for hair transplants etc...

I just chose a different path.

I went back in a week or two later for a final treatment and its been smooth sailing guys.

Its a short cut so if your looking for flowing locks of hair this is not for you. But if you want the look that says....YOU made the choice to have a short shadow hair style HIS has been great.

I'd have to say its THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT I have given myself in 52 years...on this earth....

Made a great change in my life and depending on each persons personal desires it can improve the quality of your life as well....At least it has for me.

Good luck deciding what you want to do.

    smp post procedure

Does anyone know how long it takes after smp is applied, for the effect to be noticeable. Ive heard it takes 30 days after the procedure to notice the full effect, but does it look good right after procedure or next day?

I will post pics soon and explain how I do it. Would love to see more smp pics from you guys, I do not trust the company pictures.

I'm quite interested in this mascara technique you're doing. You have pretty much the same extend of hair loss that I have. I also shave just like you.

I've always thought, what if we do something like this mascara scalp makeup, but coupled with some type of small fiber or sticky particles scattered over the scalp? (to create the correct sensation of 'sandpaper' to the touch, like I have in my shaved non-bald area, instead of sly smooth like in the bald area, and of course for close up inspection). Something like the micro-grass particles used for model railroads, except not green, of course.

Your thread here..literally this very one is the one that started me on my journey.

I just wanted to take a moment and make sure I thank you.

My blog on the first 10 days since doing this along with photos before and after might prove interesting.

I don't believe I am allowed to post links to other forums etc...so let me just suggest you google HIS Hair tattoo clinic forum. Then just scroll down and you'll my 6 page thread with pictures and what it was like ....and how it came out.

Hey man...taking the lemons in life and MAKING Lemonade! Life is good when our journey rolls that way for each of us...

Like I mentioned above..it was your idea that got me searching for the viable practioners who had a reputation above all others. I recommend these guys that I had work on me quite highly..

Hope all is well...and thanks again..

Wow, thank you and I am sure you info will help a lot of guys on here.

Sorry to everyone for not being around on here lately since i DID actually make this thread.
Anyway I am sure you guys are wondering what I did right? Well basically I have mastered the mascara 'procedure' and have not gone with the micro-pigmentation.

Although I am still very interested in it, right now I am content with the mascara.
I use a waterproof kind that doesn't rub off on clothes or smear, I play sports and go swimming and it is fine. Does a very good job and NOBODY has said anything.

I will post pics soon and explain how I do it. Would love to see more smp pics from you guys, I do not trust the company pictures.

So I've been checking more into HIS hair clinic. It's supposed to be the pioneer of this procedure. The pics look great but they only have clinics in NY and LA in the U.S. Anyone know anything about this company or have any results they can show? Thanks

Leaning towards Artistry Concepts in Florida

So Ive been searching and searching the internet trying to make a decision between Good Look Ink in Minnesota, and Artistry Concepts in Florida. I believe my best option is AC in Florida b/c their pics look amazing and I believe they are the leaders in this field at this time. The replicated follicles AC produces are so tiny that they look real. I find Good Look Ink to be very courteous and professional, but this may very well mean that they are just good salesmen who are only about money and don't care about results, idk. I do know that their pics on the GLI site do not look too good. It seems the replicated follicles are too large and bunched together too close. They almost look like freckles. I hear the two guys that do the procedure in Florida are very talented, but I still wish I had more info. If anyone knows anything about either of these companies, or has had this procedure done or knows someone who has, please comment, I'd really appreciate it. Please no more comments from people with no fact-based information as this does not help me. Having tattoos on your body does not in any way make you an expert in scalp micropigmentation. I have tattoos all over my arms so thanks anyway. Also no more shills from HIS or GLI please, b/c they seem to be the only two guys commenting LOL!! Thanks to the real hair loss sufferers

    change of heart

Yea I just wanted to add this b/c I feel I have jumped the gun and passed a very premature judgement on AC in Florida. I keep scouring the internet looking for any negative review I can find on them and I haven't found anything but glowing praises. And also, to be fair, I have not gone down to Fla. in person to see their finished product, nor have I been to Minnesota. All I know is the pics (to me) on the artistry concepts website, look much better than GLI. I was a bit disapointed with the brief phone conversation I had with AC but after reading so many threads on this stuff, I can see why they'd be skeptical to answer a whole bunch of questions over the phone, as there are plenty of people working for competitor companies attempting to gather info. I only wish I could see the crown work on a client of AC. I will ask them Monday if they have any pics of that, but the website is pretty impressive and they seem to do good work. If anyone out there still cares about scalp micropigmentation (or any type of procedure similar to this) please give me your feedback and opinion. Thanks all!!!

Thanks Jon B., I wish I did live up there on east coast and I could take you up on that offer as Id love to see someone's work in person. I've seen your pics and they look great, also you have a very good head- mine is not shaped as well but I still like my look with shaved head and have been shaving it for a few years. I am looking for the solution that will produce best results and last the longest and it can be tough to know which way to go. Thanks for feedback.

Guys..I'm only going to recommend the company I chose to go with. HIS has clinics opening up in the United States....

If your in the NY area...I recommend heading over to the NY city clinic..

If your in northern NJ ...and you buy the coffee...I'll meet up with anyone at star bucks..

I've done this for quite a few guys....who were interested in deciding which way to go and they ended up going with HIS MHT..

HIS is opening up clinics throughout many cities in the USA.

Good luck in whatever you decide

    thank you

Thanks Freeman, I just found your response on this particular thread. Yes I completely agree with you about the professionalism of GoodLook. I spoke with Darren for an hour, and he actually told me about ten minutes into the conversation that after looking at my pics he wanted to talk me out of it b/c he believed I had enough hair. This spoke volumes; how many business owners/presidents will say that. I know for a fact they aren't money hungry. I actually am very noticably balding and after I told him the meds I take for hairloss, and how long Id been taking them, he seemed to understand. You also made an EXCELLENT point about their reputation. Why would they be welcoming all of the media exposure if they didn't believe 100 % in their finished product and its lasting effect. For goodness sake, Good Morning America is doing a story on them. I believe that AC in FLA is probably good at what they do but I cant get past my phone experience. The man(Robert) who the lady-(co-owner) said would be doing my procedure answered the phone when I called, and he sounded like he couldnt care less about my questions or me as a potential client. There was a DEAD silence for almost 5 seconds when I told him I had some questions. Then all I got were very unenthusiastic "Yes" and "No"s like I had interupted his morning joint. I then emailed the woman Gale who apparently co-founded AC and dates the main guy Mark, and I told her I spoke with Robert and subtly asked her if she would mind talking to me on the phone and what would be a good time to call. She replied back and said that Robert would be the guy I need to speak with and he would answer all of my questions( she completely didnt understand that he had already failed at giving me any info). Also I havent seen one pic of the crown or back of any head they have done on their website and this is red flag for me. In one pic I even see a bald spot on the crown area of their tech who they claim has had procedure. All I can say is it would be a shame if they actually do good work and have a great method, because they definitely do not have customer service skills. I have been on the fence back and forth but I believe that I'll call Julie at Good Look on Monday to schedule appointment. I believe in ten years Good Look will still be around and that says alot. Thanks again
