how many grafts do i need?

    hey guys

im 28, and been thinning for a while. been on generic propecia for 5-6 months now. grow has improved slightly, the top of my head is still thinning.

im thinkin of just bitin the bullet and doing a HT to get the top denser and the crown filled in...

thoughts? also be curious on your opinions on strip on FUE? im thinking FUE so that i wont have a strip scar...

Straight way my advice is DO NOT get a HT at this stage - you mention you see some improvement from the meds - you are at 6 months - wait till 18 months as you more than likely will further improve avoiding all need/want for a HT.

HT 's are not a quick fix - once you start , your locked in FUE or strip as you will always want/need more.

Wait a FULL 18 months on meds before deciding anything in my honest opinion.

I hadnt thought of that--I guess I should possibly wait a bit longer, I dont know about another 12 months! I guess I'll guage it at 6 more months and see.

Propecia only works on the crown though correct? The top of my head is thinning out too, so what are your thoughts on any improvement there?

Actually Propecia can help throughout the entire scalp. The hairline is the most difficult to regrow hair, but it works really well on the entire top and sides.

When you say the top of your head is still thinning, do you mean that you are seeing continued loss from this area? How is your hairline holding up?

I'd get a HT now and just get touch ups as needed. I did my first at 21 years old and that was 16 years ago no regrets. Never been a baldy ad a result.

Strip all the way. Good doctor will suture it so it will be virtually indetectable even with short hair, and you get to use 100 percent of the hair follicles. The FUE method wastes TONS of precious follicles and anyone that claims otherwise is a liar. And you will risk a moth eaten appearance and even an acne scar cobblestone look on front and back if your doc creeps into the non permanent zone which is VERY easy to do with the FUE method.
I wear my hair very short and the donor area is invisible.
